It is when your thread title says “he had the most time to throw”. The PFF measurement is the time to release, sack, or scramble past the line of scrimmage. That’s time until an action, but the name of it implies they have x amount of time to throw. It’s not, it means there was x amount of time before the QB did something to where a pass couldn’t happen in the future. It’s not an O-Line quality stat.

Caleb Williams last year and Cam Ward this year had the highest TTT in the regular season. Both O-lines were bad and the QBs didn’t play well either. Herbert wasn’t good, but implying that it was in spite of great O-line play is absolutely disingenuous.

You know who doesn’t use PFF’s TTT stat as a measure by itself to measure a QB? PFF.

I’m not. I’m either blaming the OC or giving the Pats D tremendous credit. Given Chargers players were saying they were doing things they never showed on film, that means the answer is likely “both”. The Chargers got out coached and out played.

High TTT in a vacuum doesn’t mean an O-Line played well or poorly.

ESPN still tries to do an element of “take us seriously”. There’s a reason the interviews are 10x better on PMT minus John Cena and Dak.

I’m honestly not sure how this makes sense for Netflix overall, outside of them getting consistent eyes on 3x a week content. It won’t really help subs that much.
