re: What are the greatest regular season games in college football history?

I hate the answer… but it’s ‘69 Texas-Arkansas
Was called the national championship. Nixon was there. Arkansas up 14-0 in the 4th in Fayetteville before a miracle comeback for Texas to win 15-14.
Broyles died with never having watched the game film.
Part of the Natural State died that day.

It was actually a solid piece, I was cringing when I read the thread title.
I say this as somebody that took out a bajillion in loans to get my graduate degree from an Ivy school:
- Adjunct professors at those universities are some of the best educators the world has seen due to their real world applicable skills.
- Tenured professors and administrators at those universities are the 7th levels of Dante’s inferno for the intersection of hubris and uselessness.

Crazy somebody that good, his entire career with the Yankees, doesn’t have his stripes

Yea but not a full start. Was like how Dave pitches literally anyone in the SECt, the difference was we face fricked them with the same strategy.
God I hope we lose tomorrow. The SECt is so dumb. But we face fricked Texas and I’m an hour away from calling a doctor for erections lasting longer than 6 hours.

frick you
And yea the SECt is fricking stupid, you were smart not to pitch Volantis, but we’ll hate you anyway and enjoy you fricking getting smoked by us in a sandlot when we can
As a reminder for Arkansas Texas hate when a Texas fan said they’d put Arkansas a distant 3rd as a rival when we’d put them #1

Yep we will put you #1, and we don’t give a frick where you put us. We will welcome you this November like we always do, with hearts full of hate.
Every team likes to say “we are Arkansas’ Super Bowl”. It’s not really true except for Texas. We don’t care if you don’t care about us.
We don’t have any jilted lover/unloved family member dynamics with Texas like Aggie does. Our hatred is pure. It’s consistent.
Unadulterated hate and disdain. No mixed feelings. We don’t care what our or your record is. All we know is frick you. And I hope Arkansas gas stations don’t fill up your cars with Texas plates after the games like they did back in the 60s and 70s.

I don’t think any LSU fan would’ve believed that the peak of Kelly’s tenure at LSU would’ve been that 2pt conversion against Bama in 2022

I agree. He’s one of the greatest hitters of our lifetimes. If he played for the Orioles our fans would have statues already built.
But he plays for the Yankees, he hasn’t won a title, and hasn’t played well in the playoffs.
His best postseason was last year… but only over 7 games which means Yankees fans don’t care.
I hope he’ll get his stripes. Just hasn’t yet. Unfortunately has dropped the ball when he’s had the chance

I just feel bad for Judge. One of the best hitters of our generation, apparently a great dude and teammate, and still hasn’t earned his stripes.

This isn’t a least favorite but to the poster’s point about removing things. This one I actually think is fine. But I know many that HATE it.
In Camden Yards, the left field used to be another 20-30 feet in. They actually moved the left field back and gave up ticket sales so pitchers would want to go to Baltimore more often in free agency.
The reason being was in 2019 the Orioles gave up the most HRs in MLB history by a decent margin, most of them to LF.
I like the move back. Although I know Ryan Mountcastle and recently Pete Alonso likely don’t given how many long flies to LF they’ve had.

I remember before I watched that press conference…
I looked at the MSB and the first thread title I saw was “Ever stuff jalapeños up your dick hole before your intro press conference?”
Probably the hardest I’ve ever laughed after seeing the clips

There’s a solid chance we’ll be open after this season and possibly Kansas (with Self’s health). And of course UF could lose Golden to the Warriors even before that. He’s likely going to have plenty of opportunities if he wanted to.
I think either this is true, or he is the same as Jay Wright and wants to step away for good. Ie either he’s back after 1 year off or he’s absolutely done.
These high pressure roles do eventually make people pure psychopaths like Pitino or they finally hit their physical, emotional, and psychological/spiritual limits.
I obviously don’t know Coach Donovan. But I think the odds go down drastically every year he’s out.

I honestly despise Jemele Hill and “none would exist” is extremely hyperbolic.
But there is the tiniest sliver of truth in her point.
Male reporters get close to sports folks in the know and having scoops by either being 1) the top shelf at their job (Woj, Schefty) that work nonstop and people can trust 2) by being dope arse bros to hang with 3) whatever the frick Brian Windhorst does
Strip clubs, partying of different kinds, yet keeping those secrets and being chill about it is how a minority (but not tiny) number of media folks get by. Kind of like how investment brokers used to be back in the day, and still do to a much lesser degree.
TBH It’s kind of exhausting when I’ve heard about it. It’s work. They do it consistently, and it’s how they maintain relationships. It’s their job and they didn’t get there with great test scores. Do what you have to do and are good at. No judgement.
I personally don’t think Diana outright fricks all of her sources, but I do think she plays into the woman flirty/intimacy angle at times to make men more comfortable to share things. I know myself and it would work on me. I personally don’t think that’s a “bad” thing either, but I understand why it’s a clear HR/ethics issue for her employers.
This whole “controversy” is just the veil coming off reality and people are clutching pearls, IMO.

All 3 of Cal, Arkansas, and Kentucky are in better places than they were in March 2024.
It’s rare, but it happens.
