They went full Van de Velde in the 5th.
Just an outrageous choke.

honestly, the ALCS and WS were the only Yankee games I watched all year.
Were they always this bad at baserunning, fielding, plate discipline? Is this a league wide issue or are the yankees just really bad at these things?

Was great to witness. What a complete meltdown by their defense.
These current iterations of yankee teams is so much more mentally weak than the greats of old.

Yankees lose because Cole is too good to play fundamental baseball and can’t get over on a ball taking the 1B away from the bag. I couldn’t possibly think of a more fitting way for the Yankees to lose. The quintessential “too good for that” organization loses because of a player that’s “too good” to hustle

That was a hilarious sequence. Biggest team choke I can recall.

I particularly liked how Cole casually pointed to 1st base while halfway to the bag like he was asking "You got that-----right"? While Rizzo was 20 ft. behind the base fielding the ball and in no way going to get there in time.

This meltdown was infinitely worse than Oakland's in 1988 with McGuire , Canseco and Henderson.....at least Canseco launched a Grand Slam in Game 1 that damaged a TV camera.....did Judge do anything?

Yeah pretty much all season they were. Relied on gorilla ball to overcome all of that.
Interestingly though, that muffed fly ball by Judge was the first error he committed ALL SEASON. That's a tough beat.

2 regular season losses, Patriots sucks and now this it’s been a rough year for “lifelong” Alabama fans

Zombie George Steinbrenner has to be screaming about Judge being the new Mr May from his grave.

It’s a Yankee thing. And they can’t fix it because Boone won’t admit it.

While Rizzo was 20 ft. behind the base
If Rizzo is 20 feet away Cole is 100
