What a bizarre story. He couldn’t wait one day?

And is Russini still pretending pictures of her with another man at a couples resort were just taken out of context?

If he waited until after the draft, then he and the Patriots couldn't pretend "it's a REALLY big deal"...though not big enough to miss the important part of the draft.

Like the poster above said, it's bad PR. If it's a really big deal then you skip the entire draft. Not some half-assed PR move that anyone with a modicum of sense sees right though.

Buddy, his wife probably knew or looked the other way, and he just had to keep it secret on his end

Once she got embarrassed by it going public, he has to do these things

He said he did something

When asked Tuesday if that was still his stance, Vrabel declined to answer. "I appreciate the question," he said. "I'm going to focus on our football team. I think I addressed what I felt like was important."

Not originally.

He changed his tune, at first, he said it was nothing.

This is probably a “punishment”, or framed to be that way.

His/Patriots PR team really dropped the ball on this one. Why not go to counseling last week before the draft? Or after the draft? Why during the draft when 8 of your 11 picks are on Day 3? Now the story is even bigger than it already was

An awful lot of public repentance for a completely innocent interaction amongst groups of friends that doesn't even merit talking about.

In a just world, this clown would be forced to resign.

His lawyer must have told him how much he would get screwed if his wife divorced him, so he made a financial decision.

Can’t believe people would stay with their partner after a situation like this

Poor guy. He’s a sex addict. He can’t even help it. Glad he’s getting the help he needs.

Counseling for saying hello to a friend who was on a girls' hiking trip?

Seems excessive.

If the NFL fired front office staff, coaches, and players for infedility, you'd have about 4 teams.

I think she went into hiding. The Athletic completely had her back on day one, then obviously found out the truth somehow (probably because their eyes work) and were like, “well actually, we’re gonna look into this” and she bounced.

Also the husband (or whoever) slow leaking more photos each week making sure the story doesn’t go away is petty to the point of being kind of hilarious.

Vrabel is just doing this to save face and move on in his household...not really a professional concern for him. He 100% just threw Russini's career under the bus though....
