LSU does you its real name in all official documents. LSU is also a state approved abbreviation. UL isn't.

They should take that up with the UL System, then. It would be misleading and inaccurate to go by "University of Louisiana" as a member of the "University of Louisiana System" when you are not the flagship or namesake of the system.

Well, you know what? We're going to start our own system called University of Louisiana in and around Louisiana System and flagship the frick out of that system.

Hell, I'm an alumnus of the school that actually WAS The University of Louisiana at one point. This doesn't bother me.
But I'm also not the sort who is overly concerned with what others call themselves or what other grown men wear.

Going by UL implies it's the flagship, but it isn't.
ULL isn't on par with the Texas, Michigan, Oklahoma, etc. Calling it the University of Louisiana is incorrect, end of discussion. It's false advertising and misleading.

By the way, perhaps we should discuss why the legislature won't designate the school in Laffy as the flagship. Hint: it has nothing to do witb academics or athletics...

please explain how the "university of la" can be part of the "university of la system" and not be its namesake or flagship. please find an example of that.
university of texas has a system. ut is the flagship and namesake. member institutions are uta, utd, utsa etc. same with lsu. same with every system im familiar with.

I'm not really arguing one way or another about our name. I just don't want people to think that we're basically the same as Grambling.
