It’s a known risk. Def not malpractice.

I couldn't imagine being a QB in the NFL and trying to play through cracked ribs. That sounds miserable.

Percocet and local pain injections help quite a bit, but yeah it would not be fun take a spear from Cam Jordan types into broken ribs.

The Saints medical staff circa 2015 would have accidentally removed his lung.

My first thought was... did they hire a former Saints doc?

You have a 1st round qb just sitting on the bench but hey let's dope up the qb with cracked ribs and trot him out there.

It's pretty wild how crazy fans go about players testing positive for steroids but we don't even bat an eye things like this and guys shooting up with Toradol(or whatever it's called) to play through injuries, like that's any safer.

I remember a crazy Jason Taylor he told where he played 2 games with a catheter going into his heart. These dudes are just different.

I think the gold standard is still Logan Mankins playing an entire season on a torn ACL.

@GeorgeAtallah

Our medical and legal team have been in touch with Tyrod and his agent since Sunday collecting facts. An investigation has been initiated.

This guy is the Assistant Executive Director of External Affairs at the NFLPA (from his twitter bio).

Being a lawyer for the NFLPA should be one of those professions that people are ashamed about like being a stripper or a prostitute.

A bad outcome even one that is a known and disclosed for consent risk does not mean that bad outcome is not a result of malpractice.
