This will rank as a franchise
ETA: meant to say tank, but rank maybe works due to the shite smell of Houston, or maybe they do well and rank high?
Idk I’ve had many post work beers.

Hockey in the deep south just sounds like a money loser
Excluding them, their fellow peers at the lowest quartile for valuation/revenue/profitability (they’re all similar rankings) include Deep South titans Arizona, Buffalo, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Columbus, and San Jose. Carolina would probably be in that group as well or next up, but they’re still a fairly healthy franchise
Tampa, Nashville, and Dallas are comfortably more stable than the above despite being decades late to the party. Depending on ranking you’ll find Tampa and Dallas in or near the Top 15 most valuable. Houston could absolutely support an NHL team. We’re past the point to be wondering if Deep South teams can make it, particularly for a metro that big
Hell it’s not even hard to make a case that Winnipeg would be better off moving back to Atlanta

Is he willing to pour a bunch of upgrades into the Rockets arena? Someone is going to have to if Houston gets a team.
Why? Toyota Center is a perfectly good venue for hockey.

You have to have the sped up version of Kraftwerk's"Electric Cafe" as the entrance music if this is the case. And the team color must be black.

Toyota Center had recent upgrades that include what it takes for a NHL ice surface

Go ask Elliot Friedman. He's the one that said the league didn't like it months ago.

Edmonton existing ruins the possibility of an epic Bud Adams clap back.

Tilman has done a terrific job with the Rockets the past 4 seasons.

Houston makes a lot of sense for a Hockey team - they have a ton of Northerners in the city. SLC would be another good location if the NHL expands.
