This is the effective end of the road for the NCAA. This ruling and its effects ends them as a governing body. While in actuality they will linger around for a little longer, they are dead.

We will definitely see the long rumored legislation get voted on.

What do you think happens over the next 5 years?

Would anyone be surprised if the SEC and Big 10 just say "enough" and break off sooner rather than later?

I think a lot depends on whether Sorsby is on the field Week 1 or not. The NCAA is probably dead one way or another, but that will determine how fast.

NCAA needs to grow a pair and drop TT as a member institution.

If they do not, they are willingly allowing a university to play a player that the NCAA has said should be ineligible.

It is now an integrity of the sport issue…way worse than Chambliss.

The reason they died is the same reason they fought so hard for so long to maintain their power: Greed

Am I the only one who understands that a single ruling from a state judge in Lubbock, Texas is not binding anywhere outside of the state of Texas? May not be binding outside of this judge's courtroom. And may not be binding anywhere in Texas depending on what happens on appeal?

I don't know what's worse: the state of college sports or the state of the idiots covering the sport.

Doesn’t the NCAA have some leverage? It’s a privilege not a right to play college sports. No one is entitled to play. It isn’t against someone’s rights to be denied eligibility correct?

Call me cynical but I don’t see where the big two conferences breaking off does anything to solve this. The conferences are filled with programs run at win at all cost directives with tons of rich boosters to back that. I suppose they can make it an unofficial minor league but I don’t see where this improves much.

This line of thinking went out the window with the NIL ruling.

Part of the deal his lawyers made is that he sits out the first 2 games.
