So they wanted him to start the season
vs Bengals
@ Ravens
vs Packers
@ Lions
vs Vikings
@ Steelers

Instead they waited to let him start vs 2-9 Raiders… how unfair

What is it going to take for some of you to realize all of these kinds of show have hosts and guests saying crazy shite specifically to piss you off enough you talk about it to other people?

They are just shite posting on TV. This isn't a real conversation. It's sports kayfabe.

Shannon Sharpe is an idiot and clearly Chad doesn't agree with his idiotic take. Shedeur showed great potential this weekend. Only a fool would deny it. Of course most people want to see more, but the potential seems to be there and he's just now getting started.

Lol,

Great post! First Take really ruined television for a very long time! It, for unknown reasons, got enough viewers that TV executives thought this was the new era of sports television! I will raise my hand and say Shedeur has completely surprised me this year. I was wrong on 2 fronts. 1. I didn't think he would actually start a game for the Browns this year; 2. If he did, I definitely didn't think he would be as good as he has been. The Browns are not a good offensive football team. They just aren't. In the 3 games he has started, they have scored over 20 points 2 times. To put that in perspective, they have scored 20 or more points 2 other times this year! The team is playing better with him starting at QB. I know they haven't exactly played a gauntlet in his 3 games, but this is the NFL. It really doesn't matter as every team could beat every other team in any given week. I am very interested to see how he does in their last 4 games as they will be against much better overall competition than he has faced in his first 3 games.

And it seems like some of the shows copied Skip and have their own 'smug' white guy.

That's three really bad defenses
Bengals 32nd , Ravens 25th, Steelers 28th, while the Packers (5th) is the only top 5.

He has a 52% completion percentage. Worst in the NFL with a qb that has at least 100 attempts.

What have you guys seen in playing these God awful teams that's I'm not seeing? The one 'decent' defense he played against, he could only manage 8 points. Also 2 of his TD's have came on trick plays. It's like they have to do wild shite just to move the ball when the rushing game isn't going.

There aren't any middle relief quarterbacks in the fkn League. You trypically get your shot to become a starter and you either sink or swim.

I'd love to see the kid succeed, but I really don't give a shite if he sinks. He's from Dallas, and he's been playing in the same circle of athletes as my son growing up. My personal area favorite as far as hard working and absolutely outstanding young man is Emmit Smith's son, EJ. I cannot say enough awesome things about this kid! If ever there was a son of an iconic athlete who I want to see succeed, it is EJ.

Shadeur has always been playing Daddy Ball ever since he's been a kid. When he played high school QB at a smaller private school, he never impressed me. I do admit, he did pretty well at Colorado against mid-tier defenses, but I have no expectations of him to suceed as a professional quarterback in the League.

If we really want to find patient zero, it was PTI that was really the first 1v1 sports debate show.

Granted, Wilbon and Kornheiser had a prior relationship working together at the Washington Post, so their debating was tame and cordial, but that success led to ESPN giving Eric Reidholm carte blanche to fill the network's daytime programming instead of running sportscenter reruns and he made a shite ton of debate shows, each getting dumber and louder than the previous one.

We always hear that the community wants better for themselves, but then they hold people back from achieving and breaking away from the community

I think it's kind of cute how he takes his helmet off whenever he's on the sideline so the cameras can show his face and locks. Last game, I don't thnk there was a single shot of him off the field with his helmet on. And there were lots of shots of him.

Other sports debate shows like The Sports Reporters and The Sports Writers on TV were around earlier, but you're correct that PTI's popularity made ESPN realize it was a viable format to clutter up their schedule.

And it honestly wasn't just ESPN. Cable news channels shifted away from traditional journalism to commentary and debate formats around the same time. It's all trash TV like Jerry Springer, only Jerry might've been slightly better since it didn't take itself seriously.

Good point. What I was more speaking to was the hot take style of sports debate show. PTI, in my opinion, works so well because it’s 2 guys just talking sports. They agree/disagree on things but it comes across naturally as opposed to first takes screaming and disagreeing about every single topic!

As a titans fan I watched the whole game. Number one we traded all of our corners and have practice squad people on the field except Jeff Simmons. We have by far and away the worst current secondary in the nfl. Second a ton of yards were short passes YAC cause we can’t tackle. The passes even remotely down field were few and far between. Not saying he didn’t play good but a lot of fools gold in the stats. He WILL NOT approach 300 against any of those team. Maybe bengals
