The fact Taylor has made it this long is amazing to me.

Bills, Chiefs, Ravens, and Eagles are some examples of organizations that know how to maintain a good team after paying an elite QB over the years.

Bengals are an example of what not to do. Let way too many key FA go to other teams and didn’t draft well enough to replace them.

Firing Zach Taylor won’t magically make the Bengals a competent organization. The problem is with the GM and ownership.

It's possible to get in at 9-8. They would need to win 5 of the last 6 games.

They've lost 4 close games to good teams, that's been the difference in their year. Like the Niners, their season could easily look a lot different if a few breaks had gone their way but for the Bengals their margin of error is small because the defense gives up too many points.

correct. And the general sentiment was “wins are what matters for QBs worth”

Imagine how people become logical when it happens to who they like

their best chance to win a SB was always gonna be the one they lost. Once you gotta pay burrow, chase, etc how can you build out a championship level defense

What I'd do is hire Vrabel and offer Zac to stay on as OC. The guy that's effectively the GM is probably not going anywhere considering that he's been in the job for 25 years.

When you give out the qb super contract you have to have a competent FO to draft well…. Everyone wanted to sky scream at Brees for his contract but it was the FO that drafted like shite and made some bad FA signings that ate up cap when there was little room for error. The 2017 draft opened up a new window for them

The bengals are still run like an 80s franchise, their scouting dept is pretty much a joke.

It's really not and in spite of the fact they've taken action every year Burrow has been there to shore up the OL, it still sucks.

They have drafted the needed positions, but they have whiffed on the personell that they picked. Their recent drafts have killed them.

Bengals hate to give out guarenteed money on contracts and therefore lose out on decently priced players.

Also Zac Taylor sucks.

Agreed but Burrow also missed an open Chase running down the sidelines to ice the game last night. The defense showed up in the second half but the offense struggled to close out.

Nfl has a ton of close games. You find a way to win them and you are riding high. You find a way to lose them, thats the result. Guys like mahomes and allen find ways to win those games. Burrow cant seem to do it

The Bengals defense ain't even remotely comparable to the Bills' or Chiefs'.
