Kid needs to sell that card immediately. The demand for it will only go down once Skene's rookie hype does down. Same thing happened with Judge and Ohtani cards after their rookie seasons in MLB.

Livvy only offered to sit with the kid for one Pirates game.

If that doesnt include a frick then I'll take the millions.

Millions? Who is paying millions? Cards maybe worth millions for a hall of famer that had an amazing career and is done. A guy in his first season may become forgotten after a couple of years.

You buy the card now on the chance it goes up, which means it’s not up right now. We aren’t talking Nolan Ryan or Jeter or someone else with a huge following.

Based on an article I just read it said it would probably go for somewhere between 200k and 1 million for the floor and ceiling but would probably fall somewhere in between. Either way, the kid is set up nicely if he's wise (or has wise guidance).

How much do these packs go for? How many cards in a pack? Are these sold at any store, i.e. WalMart?

Card is likely worth 10s of millions

It's most likely not 10's of millions but it's definitely in the millions. Hell Goldin came out a few months ago and basically said he's give whoever pulled it hundreds of thousands just to sell it on their site. So you get 100K+ before you even sell the card.

It's a huge pull. Never bought any of that product just in spite of Topps. They 100% held on to that card for months letting people buy millions in product until they ever put it in a pack. When the hype finally started to die down after months, the card gets pulled. Gtfo Topps.

and with all due respect, to LIvvy Dunne. Sitting next to her at a Pirates game would not be worth giving over that card for

You sit next to her while she stages 75 versions of the same picture to post to Instagram and you get to advise her which lighting and angle is the best. Sounds fun

So an 11 year old from Los Angeles is going to get tickets to a Pittsburgh baseball game for 30 years.

I wonder if Pittsburgh starts doing well how quickly would they kick that kid out of those seats in order to sell them.

Livy is a beautiful gal but I wouldn’t want to watch a game with her. I do appreciate her trying to help make the reward package better but she would likely have a better shot with giving a used lsu leotard.

Just kind of a bad look, come off looking like a multi million dollar organization is trying to swindle a kid

Luckily he’s young and there’s no social media of people pressuring him to give it up like some due for historic baseballs people catch

Topps usually doesn't put hits that nice in retail packs. It was likely out of a box sold at a hobby store.

I believe that this was the deal that the organization offered when they (pirates) found out about the card existing not once they saw it was an 11 year old.

My comment (not saying that you were replying to me) was it’s not a great deal for an 11 year old who lives on the opposite side of the country.

The tickets are theirs to sell if they want. They could just put every ticket on seat geek if they wanted.

It is by far not the best offer they will get/most financially beneficial, but it isn't the worst offer in the world. Really hope they don't take them up on it.

I’m saying that Pittsburgh offered 2 tickets behind home plate for like 30 years. They can do that now because they aren’t a popular ticket. If they turn around and start selling out I wonder if they would try to move the kids tickets in order to sell the ones behind home plate.

This is probably being undervalued…2 season tickets behind home plate could be upwards of $40k/yr. Times 30 years is a value of $1mm+.

He can probably get more by selling, but I don’t think it’s a dogshit offer from the pirates.

at $200 a game per ticket, it's basically a million dollar value.

i dont give a shite about the pirates nor do i want my full time job to be selling these tickets, so i would never take the deal, but i agree with you that the pirates offer was pretty reasonable/fun, especially when i dont think they expect to be taken up on it.

Got ya. I was just assuming it would have been those behind home plate seats for the entirety of it. If there was a stipulation that they could change the seats then it'd be an even harder pass than it was before.

Thats why you sell now and get around $500,000 to $1,000,000 for it like they claiming it’s worth right now instead of waiting around and chancing the card to become almost worthless because God forbid Skenes has a career ending injury or he falls off a cliff and is just average the rest of his career.

yeah, and how much value are the pirates gonna be getting out of the card when Skenes leaves in free agency

the offer was fine, but no way someone living in California is gonna get as much value out of season tickets to pirates games as they can sell it for.
