Top 10 in no particular order
Wilt
Kareem
Jordan
LeBron
Magic
Bird
Oscar
Duncan
Russell
Shaq
Would have Kobe at 11 but Duncan and Shaq would be compelling arguments. Shaq most dominant player I've ever seen and Duncan has 5 rings with more finals MVPs. More consistent winner throughout his career. More league MVPs. But like I said, good arguments to be made for him being top 10

I think this is the exact top 10 I posted, except I had Hakeem in place of Oscar. Oscar's numbers are startlingly similar to Kobe in terms of PER.
Kobe is in that next tier when you look at guys like him, KD, (for me) Oscar, Garnett, Malone, Baylor, etc. I tend to think KD has already eclipsed Kobe, and Oscar was more complete. That's about where I'd put him, 13th, with some fluidity because that's a really good group of players who all have some serious accolades.

He wasn't top ten. That said, he's close enough that I wouldn't be offended if you put him at #10.
I'd personally put him somewhere 12-15. I feel like we had this thread like 3 weeks ago.

Kobe Bryant's career stats are very similar to Pete Maravich...and Pete did not have the luxury of playing with Shaq
Kobe Bryant Pete Maravich
Points- 25 24.2
Assists- 4.7 5.4
Rebound- 5.2 4.2
FG%- 44.7% 44.1%
FT%- 84% 82%
TO 3.0 3.7
Steals- 1.4. 1.4
And you don't hear anyone arguing Pete in the Top 10.
Kobe isn't even a Top 10 Laker if you factor in players who are great and played at least one year for the Lakers.

False, in my book he's top 5 just a spot above LeBron

Look, I'm a hardcore Kobe truther and even I can't go this far.
If you give every benefit of the doubt, the only Lakers (including one season players) you can argue above him are:
Magic, Shaq, LeBron, Kareem, Wilt, West, Baylor, Malone...and that's it, and only 8 guys. I'm giving heavy credit to guys like West and Malone, who I don't actually think are better, and counting anyone with a single Laker season.
And again, I'm fully on the train of Kobe being not as good as his reputation suggests.

Are you talking about Karl Malone?

Yeah if you’d double Maravich’s games played, gave him 5 more championships, and 12 more appearances on the all defensive teams.

Yeah. He had one Lakers year. I don't think he was better than Kobe, but he's close enough that I tried to give dude every benefit of every doubt.
I was just trying to emphasize that even if you count anyone close to Kobe as above him, he's still a top ten Laker.

Because of the different eras, these things can't be in absolues.
And what I mean by that is, more than ten people have an argument for top ten all time. He is one of those.
If you narrowed it down to like top 3, he doesn't make the list of who would be considered for those spots.

Greatest shot-misser of all time.

I think it's better to look at it from the standpoint of starting a franchise. As it's hard to compare across positions.
Would Kobe be in my starting lineup? No.
Would he be in my 2nd squad. Yes. (well probably, his volume of shots brings down his stats in my eyes but Wade would be my 2b).

True. The only people who will argue against this are Laker fans.

False but between 7-10

If you're just going positionally, I think there's a better argument that Kobe is the 2nd best SG ever than there is that he's top 10.
Wade and West are the other two SG's in the conversation for second best, IMO. Peak Wade was actually better than peak Kobe, but Kobe has Wade in longevity.
West is super underrated as a player and would have benefitted hugely from a 3 point line.
I tend to give Kobe a slight edge vs Wade, and have them both a slight bit over West.
