Boy, I hope Holtz isn’t in hospice. Very sad if true.

Always loved listening to him when I’d hear him give an inspirational speech.

Augusta membership is actually very reasonable considering the venue. It's not expensive at all.

It just has the exclusivity of an Eyes Wide Shut party.

A little blast from the past with Lou. Watch at the end for his magic trick.

Seems it was tied to his gig at USC. The chairman of August was an alumni at the time. But I could be mis remembering that one

That’s accurate. Hootie Johnson always did what he could to help Gamecock football.

Saw him as a lead conference speaker a couple of decades ago. He was great.

God bless Lou.

Like others have said, loved him on College Football Final. Lou was at Arkansas when my dad was based at Blythevile and he became a fan, too.

With all due respect to the man, my favorite memory of Lou was the 2002 Carolina-LSU game after Demetrius Hookfin's pick-six. I could see him angrily pacing up the sideline like he did at Notre Dame when he got pissed.

Can someone ask him for his pre season rankings for 2026 so he can pick Notre Dame to win it all for the 400th time

loved Holtz’s pep talks on ESPN

Those were awesome. I loved how at the end he'd say "Lettthhh's GO!" then charge off screen like he just delivered the most badass speech ever while you could hear everybody snickering off camera

Lou Holtz is a national treasure.

Has nothing to do with him coaching at SC. He's just an American original.

That was some of the worst television there is

The original College Gameday Final was much better than that stupid shite

It started to go downhill with that stupid Judge-Jury segment. Around 2000-2005 was its peak. Trevor Albert was better.

That has nothing to do with who is allowed to join.

Actually member fees at Augusta are not very high at all for a club of its stature. You don't have to be wealthy to afford it. What you have to be is accomplished or connected to get the invite in the first place.

That might explain why Skip stepped down from the Stallions.

i've always heard one of the perks of being USC's head coach is getting a membership at Augusta and was a factor in hiring Holtz and Spurrier.

Boom and Beamer didn't deserve though if it's still a thing.

I think it had something to do with Bo Rein’s death and Lou holding LSU somewhat responsible for it or something like that.

Whats that about? ive never heard that.

He did seem to have an irrational hate for LSU during his ESPN days, especially under Les Miles. I always thought it was because our teams were so talented but undisciplined in that era .
