Handsome to look at, loves Christ and gets some first rate trim. What's not to love

Johnny Manziel was pretty incredible right from the start, but he took a RS his first year.

This Clemson kid is incredible. I actually thought the Alabama defense would overwhelm him as a true freshman, but I was WAY OFF.

I agree, but Trevor is the exact prototype as others have mentioned here. Size, length, intelligence, moxie, athleticism, accuracy, height, and durability.

A freak of nature.

I can't see how he fails unless some freak disease or accident befalls him. Which I hope for the sport obviously does not happen.

He will replace the greats as they retire and be the next phenom HOF.

Technically half the year right? Wasnt Bryant the starter?

Lawrence is unreal. No question about it. Just naming another QB that lit up the Bama D. Knight was pretty unstoppable that night too.

But weren't people saying the same about TUA last year, now look how the year turned out.

What surprised me was his toughness. He was showing some balls on those runs in the 4th quarter

Dude threw for almost 4000 yds with 43 TD's against 6 INT's on the year and completed almost 70% of his passes. Finished 2nd in the Heisman voting.

I would say he pretty much lived up to the hype.
He was partially hurt during the season.
I didn't think he played that bad in the NC Game really.
Almost 300 yds passing with 2 TD and 2 INT.

Both QB's made a couple of loose throws... The Defense for Clemson did more with those passes than the Defense for Bama did with Lawrence's bad passes. And Lawrence's receivers made a couple of great catches on mediocre throws.

I am an LSU fan through and through... and I hate Alabama but I have some respect for Tua. He is pretty special.

Depends on how good he is at dealing cocaine in the athletic dorms like Jamelle Holloway.

Matt Barkley went into the Shoe against #5 Ohio State to start the year as a true freshman and led "the Drive" to win the game with 30 seconds left.

He never turned out to be all that awesome over the years.

Lets wait on Trevor before we annoint him...some highly talented freshman regress or never get any better.

See Ron Powlus and Barkley.

Yeah, he was the best true freshman QB ever. Looking at the stats he put up, plus the NC, I don't think there's much argument.

Closer question is whether he was the best true freshman at any position. Guys like Herschel, AP and Clarett are legit contenders.

I was amazed at his poise in the biggest game of his young college career. He shredded Bama's defense with pinpoint passes, and the ones that were a bit off were handled nicely by his excellent receivers.

Saban was shellshocked and those 2 dumb attempts to gain first downs with fakes on 4th down showed how desperate he was to try to keep this kid off the field-----------and it backfired.

Yes and if he performs even close to what he did last night for the next 2 years he will go down as the best college QB ever.

why yes lets give him the heisman for the next 4 years in a row right now, why wait

he seems good, could be a great QB but they said the same thing about tua last year so lets not anoint him as king just yet.

And this is suppose to be more impressive than a true freshman beating the defending champs, #1 team lead by a Nick Saban defense?

He tore Bama up... ripping the ball all over the field.

All the Nashville talk is Titans pickup 5th year Mariota, whatever happens happens, then dump Mariota, lose every game the following year, get the first pick Trevor's junior year and secure the next 15 years of your franchise
