It was A LOT of luck

It’s a double elimination tournament in one of the most random, luck dependent sports that exists. The whole thing involves a lot of luck. No need to change it

I just fricking hate how unbalanced this bracket has turned out to be.

In the top left corner we have the 9, 13, 14, and 15, in terms of ranking the remaining teams.

While the bottom left corner has both the 2nd and 3rd highest ranked team.

And the bottom right corner has the 1, 4, 6, and 7.

West Virginia has an absolute cakewalk while better teams have to run fricking gauntlets to get to the championship. Hell at this point just don’t even bother playing the other games on the left side, the winner of Auburn vs North Carolina next Friday night in Omaha is a lock to reach the finals. None of the teams in the top left are serious contenders. UCLA and Florida could’ve been but shite their pants last week.

Ummm.. wouldn't Troy and Little rock being in the Supers pretty much disprove that line of thinking?

Dude, when they expanded to 64 teams over two decades ago with a chance to win it all....your perceptions, biases, rankings and feelings got nothing to do with it.

You get in, good luck.

You can't micromanage the field...they designed it to let it just play out...and it will always involve luck, luck of the draw, pairings as it plays out...just like the luck in Baseball overall. But every year, every sport, people want to tinker with formats, # of teams, etc. Its exhausting this "get it right" syndrome which always turns out to be an oxymoron in this context.

Remember something similar to this in 2023 when UF had the cakewalk and we or LSU had to face the gauntlet.
Hopefully we get some epic games this year in Omaha too

you could seed the unseeded teams once they reach the supers. it’s all arbitrary anyway.

Here is an idea go all neutral sites like football and create spring Baseball Bowl system for Super Regionals.

8 Sites each brought to you by a different sponsor. Got to find a little more NIL money.

Why should 3 seed troy be penalized for going in an beating a 1 seed?

Hell naw

The best part of being a high seed is looking at future potential matchups and the multiple ways it could play out

Damn you’re right. For some reason I thought it was Ga Tech and another ACC squad.

The two worst things to happen to college baseball was leaving Rosenblatt and 3 game championship series.

The rest is pretty much perfect.

That's the initial takeaway from the re-seed idea...and it's abhorrent on its face.

Now THAT would feel wrong.

Constantly putting up newer roadblocks for the lower seeds just because they weren't a favorite heading into the Tournament which flies in the face of the Tournament concept... Once it starts, rankings, biases, preconceived seedings...end, out the window, you don't revisit them...that part of the process is over, you let the Tournament play out AS,IS...the favorites have already gotten their just advantage.

NOPE. I love that a smaller program can steal a Super if they win the sub.

3 easy wins, Won’t be challenged until the 1-0 game in Omaha. Again while better teams than them have much tougher roads.
