I mean, he sent wires directly to a bookie to cover illegal gambling bets and his legal team only found out about it because the person gave a tell all interview with the worlds premier baseball journalist prompted by a state investigation

He for sure was placing wagers. Changing the story like that is 'mad sus'. Would suck for the game but Ohtani getting banned for life 1 game into his Dodger career would be incredible
