If so, who cares.
If its not something he could directly impact, then a nothingburger.

I'm talking about MLB and Manfred getting involved.
Yeah, Feds may have something, but this isn't Pete Roseesque

They got involved in trumped up sexual assault charges, a federal crime sounds right up their alley these days.

Hold that completely different... thats a blue collar crime, this is white collar and no victims.
We will see how this plays out.

Only if you believe the horse-shite that team Ohtani is shoveling.
And you'd have to be an absolute water-brained blind person to believe it.

Except their was no crime and the only victim was Bauer. He got fired and sued for having consensual sex.

Ippei said he didn't bet on baseball because he knew it was against the rules. But I have a hard time believing a dude that got up to $4.5m in gambling debt with an illegal bookie gives a shite about the rules.

Didn't say there was... Bauer was vindicated and should sue Manfred and the MLB for what they did to him.
But comparing rape allegations to white collar financial allegations is apples and oranges.
I dont' give a shite what happens to Ohtani, no skin in the game, but don't see any reason for the MLB to do anything to him unless he bet on baseball.

I'm sure he also knows that it is against the rules for an MLB player to pay on illegal bookie for gambling debts.
But hey, let's ignore the obvious simply because Ohtani is the best baseball player in the world.
My son owns 2 different Ohtani jerseys. We love watching the man play baseball. But I'm not about to bury my head in the sand and say, "Oh, I believe everything about this bullshite story."
Ohtani single-handedly secured Pete Rose's welcome mat into MLB.

The bookie is saying the bets were on soccer as well.
Either way Ohtani broke a significant rule and is staring down real suspension time

Rose swore for decades he didnt bet on baseball.

Manfred doesn't have the balls to suspend him.

While the bookie has no reason to lie, he also has no reason to tell the truth.

This is fishy.
Not saying this happened but on the surface it smells like the bookie was allowing these bets to be placed on credit. Ohtani’s credit. The interpreter was just the middle man. And now falling on the sword. What is the reward for being the fall guy?

Exactly. I have a hard time believing that none of the bets involved baseball. If it was even one them Ohtani is in deep shite. MLB will have to decide so we punish our poster boy or eat shite and let Rose in. Rose has to be elated right now.
Posted on 3/22/24 at 1:55 pm to lsuson
I have always been of the opinion that they will let Rose in after he dies, won't give him the satisfaction of getting in while he is alive.

There is a thread on X that claims he bet big bucks on several games where he was pitching.
