I miss Verne. I don't like Brad Nessler. He's boring compared to Verne.

I won't miss the 2:30 kickoffs. The SEC game of the week should always be played at night and we'll look back at the CBS era thinking why the heck did we play all those years at 2:30.

A lot of the classic CBS memories came during the one night game they got a year or later on in the year when the clock fell back an hour and the second half of the 2:30 games were at night.

CFB is at its best under the lights.

True that.

The timeline of how the partnership between the SEC and CBS slowly disintegrated over time.

The end of an era.

People who cry about the announcers are bitches. Watch the the game and shut up. So what if your team didn't get blown enough for your liking. It doesn't impact what goes on on the field.

And whomever said all CBS sports suck can suck on the GOAT golf coverage:

That has a whole lot more to do with Augusta National than it does with CBS.

Exactly anything they do is class whether it’s college football, golf, European soccer the production value, commentary crews are elite. Now we’ll get watered down generic arse abc/disney/espn games.

They are light years better than ESPN/ABC and their Disney ad scroll bar taking up 20% of the screen, requiring them to dumb down the signal and air a lesser quality picture.

Yep. The game is not going to feel as special when there’s a bigass bottom line advertising a UFC fight at the bottom of the screen. Really hope the SEC demanded a better graphics package that could help differentiate the top SEC Game from a MAC game.

Always thought the CBS production quality seemed better than the ESPN/ABC broadcast.

As time has gone on, I don’t really like Danielson's commentary. Nessler is very good.

CBS SEC theme tGOAT.

CBS has used that theme song (or at least a version of it) for their college football games going back YEARS - it isn't exclusive to their SEC games

ND vs Miami 1988

Colorado vs Nebraska 1989

The first time I ever remember hearing it was for Super Bowl XXI, between the Giants and Broncos.

CBS' picture is unmatched. I can't stand sports on ESPN and FOX.

Loved Verne and Garry.

Camera angles used by CBS are way better than espn plus the added content of crowds, golden girls etc.
Always felt I got as close to the college Day experience without being there.
Don't feel that way with espn broadcasts.

I was going to make a list of some of the greatest SEC on CBS games over the years but there are far too many great ones to take the time to list them all.

Anybody remember 2007 when they randomly stuck a couple games at 4 PM instead of 2:30? I think it was just FSU-Bama and LSU-Bama but there might have been others.

From my understanding they paid $150M to get scraps from the B1G. They wouldn't pay the SEC and they had the 1st pick almost every week.

I had never heard that music used for NFL before.
