They'll be broadcasting the Big Ten next year so they're not leaving the sport entirely, but I still hope we get an epic montage like these:

NBA on CBS (1973-1990)

NFL on CBS (1956-1993)*

NBA on NBC (1990-2002)

NHL on NBC (2005-2021)

*The NFL returned to CBS in 1998 when they got the AFC package, but there was no way of knowing that would happen during its original goodbye.

As someone who has had the displeasure of having to watch my team on CBS, thank god.

5-hour noon games!..Sign me up...what program is going to be Gary's slobbering man-crush/daddy now that he can't lobby for Bama?

I take it a few of the complainers haven’t watched their team on ABC recently. Georgia was on ABC vs GT and it was absolutely ridiculous with not just the amount of commercials but the timing of them. I think there were two crucial reviews conducted while we were subjected to commercials. The breaks seemed longer and it ended incredibly late. It’s complete amateur hour compared to CBS.

I get it, people don’t like Gary. But be careful what you wish for….

You guys are high. CBS' production value for college football is unmatched.

Gary is insufferable when Alabama is on, but otherwise is solid.

Are we moving our best game out of the 230 slot? I hope so.

I wouldn't say EVER
ESPN/ABC sports packages might implode one day and CBS will get right back into the bidding wars

My biggest gripe with CBS was not using the prime time window over showing a rerun of Jake and the Fatman on Sat night

I will say Nessler and Danielson are way better than Lundquist and Danielson and why Aaron Taylor still gets to announce a B game is beyond comprehension as he is absolutely awful

People bitch about CBS but ESPN/ABC has the worst picture quality of the big networks, cuts the most costs and still has a ton of commercials. Everyone besides Chris and Kirk leaves a lot to be desired and the ESPN app is shite.

I 100% would rather watch the NFL on CBS than FOX.

Gary is knowledgeable but admittedly annoying, but their production is unmatched in college football. Brad Nessler is also great at what he does.

Love this narrative, especially since as recently as the Iron Bowl, he was actively rooting for a Bama loss nearly the entire game.

That being said, ESPN is kind of a joke outside of their main broadcast of the week with Fowler and Herbstreit. Not looking forward to RGIII being a staple of SEC football going forward.

Gary's problem is he's a know-it-all that always like to show he's the smartest guy in the room by playing devil's advocate all the time. He knows his shite but his delivery is obnoxious

If CBS would just replace Gary, and move the marquee game to 6:30, CBS would be perfect, but they didn’t and SEC AD’s want night games.

That had nothing to do with it. They had the cushiest financial deal in college football and didn't want to pay what a new deal would be worth when their contract was due to expire

I love the job CBS does, including Gary.

They are amazing at crowd shots after big moments. We've gotten so many fantastic memes and GIFs because of how rad CBS is at broadcasting football. That doesn't really happen with other networks. Espn / ABC and Fox don't show hot college chicks like CBS does because they are all so politically correct.

Bruh, no.

It was all money related. They could put us at 9 AM if they paid us enough

They wanted their contract grandfathered/continued and ESPN offered exponentially more.

This is the damn truth. There was one point where they had a full cycle of commercials after a touchdown, came back for the kickoff, which was a touch back and immediately had another full round of commercials.

It was a full 10 minutes with one play, a touch back kickoff. That's just outrageous
