Damn, AD top 3?? That's crazy but awesome.

I have to assume CP3 is #2 simply based on his team is expected to be signficantly better.

I imagine if Durant wasn't hurt then it would be Lebron, Durant, CP3, AD.

AD should be #1. He doesn't need to team up with other superstars to win.

IIRC Harden was 4 last year which is the same place Davis would've been had Durant not been hurt. Was Harden the 4th best player in the league last year? No, imo. Is Davis the 3-4 best player this year? No, imo. Davis is benefitting a lot by being what I like to call the flavor of the week.

Davis is getting more love than deserved based on perceived potential than what he has done in reality.

Just like Chandler Parsons got more love than deserved based on him playing well above his contract.

Parsons gets love because the SF position is terrible

He's probably the 5-6th best SF, did people say he was better than that?

LeBron won more without superstars than Davis has won without them so far.

Not if you compare their careers year by year.

Face it: the world is waking up to the fact that Anthony Davis is clearly the next big thing.

The SF position is not terrible. People say the SG and C positions are terrible.

So now you're saying the SF position is also terrible? That leaves PG and PF as the only non-terrible positions in the NBA.

Here is a list of SFs off the top of my head:

LeBron James
Kevin Durant
Andre Iguadala
Paul George
Kawhi Leonard
Carmelo Anthony
Demar Derozen
Trevor Ariza
Nicolas Batum
Luol Deng
Rudy Gay

Lebron's first year. Cavs went 35-47

Anthony Davis's first year. Hornets went 27-55

Lebron's second year. Cavs went 42-40

Anthony Davis's second year. Pelicans went 34-48

Well..

This is awkward.

Iggy is a SG
DeRozan is a SG
George is injured

He's better than Ariza, Deng, and Gay IMO

James
Durant
Anthony
Leonard
Batum
Parsons

That's where he is IMO, this NBA Rank forecast actually has him above Batum.

ETA: the SG position is very shallow in regards to superstars, same with the Center position. The SF position has several superstars, but has a considerable drop off after those. Obviously James, Durant, Anthony, and George(when healthy) are great, but there are only 25 SFs in the top 150 players (according to NBA rank). This is part of the reason that Parsons and Hayward got paid.

If Paul George would have been ranked (he would have come in at #9) there would be no Centers in the top 10 NBA players. Harden was the best SG, coming in at 9, the next best would be Dragic at 27.

He isn't better than Gay or Deng. You also have Josh Smith and Thad Young who are pretty similar to Parsons.
