I don't think PTM is Louisiana based. I was just pointing out that after the Lebron, CP3 and Durant, the pollsters for these type of rankings go with the Flavor of the week kinda guy. Harden's breakout season was 2 years ago, so he was ranked a little higher than he maybe should've been in the rankings the next year. Same goes for Davis.

Cool, thanks for your opinion. I disagree. He shoots much better than either of those players.

Josh Smith is a power forward, and can't shoot.

Young can't shoot.

I agree that Davis probably isn't top 3, yet.

You dont have to like the Pelicans. But if you cannot acknowledge Anthony Davis's greatness, then I question everything about you as a basketball fan. It really tells me you are not tapped in to the league, and Id hate to have that opinion of you.

I don't like the Pelicans, never will. I don't ever see there being a time that I could switch teams, maybe if my son is drafted by the Pellies one day I would don the red and navy.

He's a great up and coming player, but 3rd best player in the league? NAH not today.

Davis is definitely rising. His ceiling is the best player in the league, but as a Top 5 player, he will be expected to get the Pels to the playoffs. No excuses.

Keep in mind that Tracy McGrady was always in the playoffs. Getting there should be simple for top players, regardless of how tough the conference is.

With a healthy Durant on the list he is 4th, and that isn't unreasonable with similar improvement that other stars experience at the same age. If anything his "breakout season" is yet to come.

1. I never said Anthony Davis wasn't good or even that he wasn't top 10.

I'm saying he's being elevated above his actual play on the court by many in the media at this point because of his potential in the future.

2. I've lived in Houston longer than I've lived in Louisiana.

If this ranking was based off of his performance last season then that is fine, but instead it is

AD has made significant physical gains and continues to grow as a basketball player. It isn't a shock that ESPN is predicting a 21 year old star to get better.

To go from being a good player in the NBA last year to jumping all the way to #3 which means being an MVP candidate?

I mean, he barely made the all-star team last year.

He's a good player and he's only going to get better but the hype machine is out in full force.

Chandler Parsons was a "good player" last year. Davis was an all-star and put up one of the best age 20-21 seasons ever. He was solidly a great player last year.

How he got on the all-star roster is irrelevant to whether he deserved it, and he clearly did.

He also got better after the All-Star break. In April the dude averaged 24.4-10.8-2.4 (Including a game were he only played 4 minutes). Having a better team will help some of his advanced stats (Besides PER where he is already top 5), along with changes in the Pels defensive scheme.
