Best "age 20-21" seasons means nothing when comparing to all other players.

I mean, there was plenty debate whether the last spot should go to Davis or Dragic.

Didn't Kobe Bryant make it onto the All-Star team last year while barely playing any games? I don't think the All Star team means that much.

It matters when you are projecting that player going forward, which is the whole point of the ESPN rank.

Not statistically. All-star voting has a lot to do with team success and also isn't about picking the best players, or Kobe doesn't make it last year.

And again, Davis was improving even after the all-star break last year. The AD we saw post all-star break is clearly a top 10 player and that is last year.

Kobe didn't actually play because he was injured, and Davis got that spot. But the fact is that a player who only played 6 games total all year was voted onto the team. It speaks directly to how the argument of "davis isn't that good. he barely made the all star team" is not a credible position.

Players are voted to the all star team based solely off of name recognition and not performance. Davis is and was still a young player on a small market team. He hasn't built the same brand as the other players. This is just as reasonable of an explanation for why he didn't make the team as his not being good enough to be an all star.

Your overall argument may be correct. I don't know. I just think that one point is kinda stupid.

since when do you have a key logger installed on my computers to be so sure of whom I vote for?

My point was that there was debate surrounding the all-star team with Davis and Dragic.

There was debate among analysts, fans, people on this board, etc. as to who deserves to make it. It was close between Davis and Dragic.

Because of the controversy surrounding Kobe getting voted in and then his spot being opened for one more player, people DID better analyze who should get his spot based on season performance.

So yes, there was much talk about their season performances and not just name recognition.

Dragic's candidacy was as much a result of the Suns performance as his own, while Davis played for a bad Pelicans team. On individual merits alone Davis was the choice.

So if a great player makes his team better, he isn't as good as great player that doesn't make his team better? Okay.

Davis had a batter Value Added and Estimated wins added then Dragic last year. Davis can't control the players he had around him. He can only control how he plays, and his numbers are better than Dragic's.

these dudes love talking out both sides of their mouth

Of course their benchmark for AD being is elite is making the playoffs. Rocket fans see the season as a win if they make the playoffs and play a "competitive" series with the Portland while every other elite franchise is Championship or bust

Don't worry. If the Pels make the playoffs, the goalposts will be moved.

Dragic should have made it over Harden imo

Chris Paul coming in at #2

Which means what we all knew before coming into this:

LeBron James is #1 again

For people whining about Anthony Davis being #3 on #NBARank: I polled every team for my AD story. He got most votes for #3 from them, too.

Voting from reps of all 30 teams on 3rd-best: Davis 10, Paul 9, Curry 2.5, Griffin 2, Westbrook 2, Noah, Love, T. Parker, Rose, George (.5)
