I don’t think there has been one single post in this thread arguing otherwise. It’s like you’re having an imaginary argument over it.
WE ALL AGREE THAT THE DAD WAS WRONG AND CROSSED MULTIPLE LINES.
What are you reading that suggests anyone here thinks differently?

And I guarantee there are parents in the stands that think you are. Let’s just hope THEY aren’t the type to secretly keep stats to send to the commissioner to prevent you from volunteering your time with the kids anymore…..

Poor kid I am sure he is embarrassed. He was probably in the middle of the dog pile excited as hell they had just won the championship and then dad ruined it
I don’t see the issue. Number 2 was only getting to pitch Friday because the ace couldn’t. They moved it to Sunday and the ace got time to rest.

First off I do not agree with the actions of the parent.
There is more to the story going around locally, from people intimately involved with the school / athletics.
The ALLEGATIONS stated are:
-Dad was upset during and after game.
-#2 (son) had meeting with coach at school to discuss not playing.
-#2 (son) recorded the conversation with coach.
-son played recording for dad.
-dad goes to school and result of meeting with dad / coach is dad allegedly punching coach.
-Awards ceremony later that night was attended by #2 and mother.
-ALso,NOTa lot of people feeling sorry for the coach. His 1st year at Vandy.
-Coach not very well liked by some parents.
-Alleged that others wanted help pay dad”s bail money.
Somewhere between everything posted previously and this, lies the truth.
I come from a coaching and athlete family. Support coaches decision on game pitcher. Do not support parent battering coach.
Appears there is a season long past of potential flame points between coach / players / parents. That is human nature. We will probably never know the actual facts or as Paul Harvey would say “the rest of the story.”

Kid is a pussy for recording conversation. Dad raised a pussy. Dad is a pussy. VC is full of pussies.
ETA. Just read where VC hadn’t won a title since the 50s. Yeah frick the parents not feeling sorry for the coach.

Come on coach, Brayden has dominated community ball for years and finally got called up to the BIGS.
You are wasting his talent

Then those “some parents” are stupid. First championship since we landed on the moon and “some parents” don’t like the coach. The son and dad sound terrible, you go in to a meeting with a coach and knowingly record them, comes off like they were looking for any reason.

There is no rest if the story. Dad is a pussy. Son is a pussy. Coach is a winner.

No kid who just won his school’s first state championship since the 50s would think of this on his own. Sounds like the parents were “coaching” him up. Pretty disgusting

Do we know why he didn’t play? Was it because the #1 was starting and the game was called early for mercy rule and there just wasn’t an opportunity to get the kid in the game?
Was the kid in the doghouse for not following team rules or getting into some kind of trouble?
Kind of sketchy for the kid to record a private meeting w coach

Why does it matter that it’s his first year. Hell he won a state championship in year 1. Maybe he installed a bit of a culture change that led to winning but little Braxxxxxton and Ryliegh got their feelings hurt.
This makes the dad look even worse. And if the kid is recording private conversations my guess is he isn’t an innocent little angel either.

simply ask that your kid not be with that coach next year, thats all you have to do
This...
I'm coaching again for like the 4th year.
We draft every year and they ask if you want to keep your team together and allow you a courtesy to draft all your teams players and you sit out the rest of the draft until other teams catch up.
At the end of every year I make a post on group me to let parents know to message me privately that if they want thier kid on another team next year to let me know. No hard feelings. I don't want them to be unhappy and if they don't like something I did then no big deal. It's better for everyone.
Move on or coach a team. I have my kid out there in the outfieldand he's not good enough this year to move to the infield.
He's been working his butt off and I told him I'd move him in if he is playing better than the other kids.
I do still move kids around to see if they maybe better a different positions. Coach pitch is developmental. We could have won a few more games if I didn't share the load with the entire team, but the other kids wouldn't have an opportunity to learn and grow

Maybe it wasn’t all about winning a championship to them

Their stats mirror my decision making. It’d be validation to my fairness and commitment to win. I implore all parents to do so.

Yes, the goal is to win the State Championship, not let everyone’s parents get to see them on the field.
Coach won the state title in his first season. Everyone one of those parents can kick rocks.

Yes I get that. Just wondering if there was more to it, like the kid was already in the doghouse or something

I am not defending the POS parent at all, but coaches are not always supremely logical. I've seen it happen enough times to know they don't always play the best players
Doesn’t matter one freakin bit who’s right or who’s wrong about an athlete… it’s the coaches job to coach and the parents job to parent
