You are probably right. They would rather their kids play than win a state championship.

This isn’t 6 year old ball but these patents do t understand that

Memphis Tiger

ALLEGEDLY
#1 played simply because he was #1 and available to pitch.
Had the game been played as scheduled 2 days prior, #2 would have pitched.

Coach put the best pitcher he had on the mound in the State Championship game.
There were no ulterior motives and #2 not held out due to disciplinary reasons.

#2 had played second fiddle for last 2 years and he and dad were not happy he was not ranked #1 in the rotation.

ALSO #2 posted in a text group with other players that he was going to the school to meet with the coach, give him a piece of his mind and he intended to record the conversation.
This took place while the news media was on campus to interview #1 pitcher.
Sounds like a lot of jealousy.

Alleged that coach has been arrogant since he arrived at school and may have rubbed some people wrong. Other side is he must have done something right to coach the kids to a state championship.

Don’t shoot me, I’m only the messenger. I do not have a dog in this hunt, just know people close to ALL the participants. I am passing along what was told to me.

Thanks for the input.

Sounds like the kid involved was a bit of a malcontent and went to coach looking for trouble.

Some kids (and parents) are selfish and would rather lose and put up good stats than win without being the star.

Or maybe the kids were that good that they could win with or without him

Too many talented teams over the years with nothing to show for it at every level of athletics to be pushing this narrative.

Impossible. Houma does not have a Mayor.
It’s a city-parish government.
BUT Dad still appears to be a POS.

No no no. This is always an AWFUL take and you hear it everywhere. The parents who are donating actually have a clue about how a SUCCESSFUL high school baseball program should run.

The ones who you don’t see donating are your rec ball parents/players who are used to paying $50 for lil Johnny to play baseball since he was 4.

So yes it does seem that a coach is playing the ones who “donate the most money” however a good percentage of the time these players are just better than the others and this is a good rec ball dad’s excuse to why his son isn’t playing

I am not defending the kid or the parent for their actions. There isn’t a whole lot that excuses their actions and punching someone because your son didn’t get to play because the game, which your team WON, ended early because of a run rule situation surely is inexcusable.

I will say this though, that coach is an arrogant a-hole. He’s been the exact same everywhere he’s been and if 99.99% of parents of kids on his teams didn’t have the self respect that they did, this probably would have happened several times over the years. Thankfully most people realize how negatively shite like this would affect their child.

Well I heard he started the team’s best pitcher in the state title game instead of their 2nd best. What an a-hole. I mean what kind of coach decides to start the pitcher that gives them the best odds to win?

This is almost universally true. Now I have seen the rich kids dad make the team and play only during blowouts just to keep the family donating also.

but in general 99.99% of the time, the coach is always going to put out the line up he feels gives him the best chance to win, period.

this

and everyone says this shite because the coach doesnt want to talk to the parents about playing time. Its mother fricking high school, you should not be discussing playing time with the coach until the season is over or if he is giving pre/mid/post season reviews.

the coach isnt an a-hole or arrogant because he doesnt want to discuss things after a game or during practice. Parents need to learn to stfu and let the coach do his job.

other thing is travel parents, even the damn 8 & 9 year olds need to stfu and quit coddling the kids too. let the coaches coach. if you have a specific problem about something he said during the game call and discuss with him after 24 hours. But tell your kid that his lead was terrible after getting gunned down, he was late as hell after he whiffs on a pitch or asking him what he was thinking after an error is not over the line.

if he curses your kid, threatens him etc....ok fine. But jesus let the kids be coached hard.

worst thing to happen at the high school and travel level is the fricking mom group me text groups. Moms, who 99.99% know jack shite about sports, get on there and get each other riled up over some dumb fricking shite.

Dont like how a coach coaches.....wait until after the season and transfer or change travel teams or....just maybe....you could bust your arse all off season, kill it in the weight room and in the kitchen and out work everyone using all of the amazing resources available for free on the internet...outwork everyone and come back as one of the top players ready to be "that dude"

or you know could just continue to whine to mommy and daddy like a giant pussy.
