Good. frick them. They don’t deserve to have the game since the name was “racist”.

West Virginia-Pitt? I don’t know how frequently that was scheduled
Uhh, every year since 1919 save WWII.

When people talk about what ruined sport this mentality of win it all or you suck is a big part. Each playoff expansion makes me appreciate the old MNC days when the “National Champ” was more of a parlor game.
I fussed at a fellow Rebel a couple days or so about this. Only a handful of programs are championship or bust and we ain’t one of ‘em.

It's a damn shame what the world's gotten to
For people like me and people like you
Wish I could just wake up and it not be true
But it is, oh, it is

Sad. Unfortunately capitalism has destroyed college sports
I’d call that crony capitalism. ESPN and NGOs used their money and influence to make government/NCAA do their bidding.

End of an era.
I’m not sure if this makes sense to anyone, but Washington feels the most like a B1G team of the new entries.
That said, Oregon seems like the ones best set up to be a perennial conference championship contender

No, that's not going to happen. It's like suggesting Louisville has a shot at a national title. They don't. Playoff birth is meaningless.
Yeah. The fan argument is basically “it’s good because it could have let LSU in at 12. So let’s cheapen the ENTIRE season’s worth of games and the emotional investment and meaning of big match ups, to play one or two more games. “

Oregon with their weekly uniform changes will stand out like a cyst on a nose in the traditional B1G.

Yet there are plenty of people that think the collapse of these conferences is a good thing.
At this point I'm ready football as a whole to burn down. Chasing fantasy and gambling dollars has hurt the product more than I ever could have imagined. At some point, the refusal to deal with shitty, shitty officiating has to be considered a feature not a bug.

I agree. Though I get why the 4 team playoff emerged. You’d struggle to find a 5# team with a claim to the title. Plus, you don’t have too many layers, which is empirically proven to be a poor method to crown in football.
But frick it, let’s go to 12 en route to 16

Greedy men in suits are to thank for ruining CFB traditions.
There are plenty of people (some are posters on here) who are cheering it on. They think turning college football into the NFL is actually a good thing. The same idiots who supported the disaster that is NIL and the transfer portal.

Saban and BAMA fans sure thought they would win the playoff last year.

Remember when making a NYD bowl had its own charm and feelings of success?

Oh no I forgot that y’all downgraded from Adidas to Under Armour

Next year at this time there will be potentially 18+- fanbases with something to root for rather than 7.
Lame.
If we kept the mythical NC, every bowl eligible program would have something to root for.
Now 14 teams can look forward to getting pounded by the top teams instead of being matched up with a comparable team in a bowl game.
In five years, I guarantee the top 4-6 teams in the playoff will always be in the final four. I’d wager a bet that not one team ranked 7-12 will ever make it.
