I was never really into pro sports other than the Yankees. I had a Shaq jersey though. I used to want all the college basketball jerseys though. Was rocking that Kittles Villanova jersey hard.

There must have been a lot of star players to wear #34 back then. Is there any realistic way the Texans would dump their stale name and go back to the Oilers and those awesome uniforms and oil rig logo?

(Similar to how the Bobcats scrapped their name and wisely went back to the Hornets.)

Pullover. Finally talked my parents into a Starter jacket....a year after they died out...when we could afford them. Of course they bought a Hawaii Starter jacket complete with Rainbow logo....Public school kid...I wasn't harassed at all...

I loved those Starter jackets and pullovers. I found my old Blues pullover in my parents attic last time I visited.

Couldn't find any pics on google but I used to buy every NFL paperback they sold at the school bookfair. I remember one with a recap of all of the Super Bowls (I think through 19) and another with the great running backs of the time. I think the Super Bowl paperback had Roger Craig on it and the running backs book had Curt Warner on it,,,,I think. It may have had Eric Dickerson on the cover. Can't remember

This whole thread is a nostalgia bomb. I thought the pencils thing was just at my school, didnt know that was such a widespread phenomenon. Great memories though.

Luv ya blue back in 1980. Just 28 teams in the NFL. Got a Houston Oiler cap from my aunt and uncle.

Listened to the Saints on WJBO cause the super dome wasn’t selling out. My stepdad wanted to buy an antenna from Radio Shack just so he could catch the over the air tv station in Lafayette ( only way to watch saints home games).

My stepdad recently died but got to see the Saints win a super bowl.

Dad bought me some of these digital hand held games as a kid. I would play them to pass time in the car quite a bit. I had football, baseball, and basketball.
