I have no problem calling out Ohio State’s unwarranted playoff bids in the past. But this year the normal arguments aren’t valid.

Ohio State is 11-1. All the wins are by double digits, over FBS schools, and include a top ten win over Penn State. Their only loss was to the #2 team in the country. Yes, it was at home and two late 75-yard TD runs did make the score look lopsided…but it was still in doubt midway in the fourth quarter.

UGA and Michigan are the only schools with an ironclad case to be in over OSU. TCU has a good argument. Tennessee and Clemson could make a plausible case.

Alabama has no leg to stand on.

When all the dusts settles, OSU should be in the playoffs.

Enlighten us wise one on any invite OSU did not deserve. If anyone says 2014 when they won the title or 2020 when they wanted to play but the conference almost f'd them, and they beat Clemson, gtfo.

Ohio State could have lost 40-0 to Michigan and the committee would have still ranked them #5. Ohio State is the only option in the case of USC losing.

Only an idiot would argue in favor of Ohio state in 2014 getting in over tcu due to circumstances the big 12 created and TCU had no control over, then turn around and argue the complete opposite for Ohio st in 2020 due to circumstances the big 10 created and Ohio st had no control over.

You’re also leaving out 2016 when they went over a Penn st team that bet them and won the big 10.

Do you think Tennessee’s shellacking to USCe is equal to Bama’s at LSU? That’s just dumb.

I really don't give a shite who gets in or who doesn't. It should be Georgia 1, Michigan 2, and some combination of Ohio State and TCU at 3 and 4. It's almost not really debatable. Ohio St. wrecked shite for 11 weeks. Losing to Michigan isn't going to keep them out, the same way Georgia wouldn't have been kept out if LSU had beaten them.

The only "mystery" tomorrow will be who is 3 and who is 4.

So by your logic, LSU should send their ‘07 trophy back? Hawaii should have taken their spot against OSU? Idiot.

There were FCS teams that had tougher schedules than Hawaii that year. Comparing that to TCU's schedule this year

Speaking of years Ohio State probably shouldn’t have been in….

At the end of the regular season-

Osu was 11-1 with 10 FBS wins. They played only two teams listed in the Final
BCS Top 25 Poll on December 2
Going 1-1. #13 Illinois (L) and #18 Wisconsin (W). Their OOC was brutally bad. The loss to Illinois was at home.

LSU was 11-2 with 11 FBS wins. They played 4 teams from the Dec 2 BCS Top 25 with wins over #3 Va Tech, #12 Florida, #16 Tennessee and #23 Auburn. (LSU had losses to 8-4 Arkansas and 7-5 Kentucky)

While everyone criticized LSU for getting in with “two losses”, LSU’s resume was far and away better than Ohio State's and the Tigers should have been ranked #1 going into the BCS game.

Oklahoma had 11 FBS wins compared to Ohio States 10 and was 3-0 vs teams in the final BCS top 25 with 2 wins over #6 mizzou and 1
Over #19 Texas. OU lost two road games
@ Colorado and @ Texas Tech - which was the only factor OSU had in its favor.

Mizzou had 10 FBS wins (same as the Buckeyes) and was 2-2 vs the 12-2 BCS Top 25 with wins over #8 Kansas and #13 Illinois (who beat OSU) and the two losses to #6 Oklahoma, one in a conference title game.

Va Tech 3-2 vs 12-2 BCS top 25…losses to #2 LSU and #14 bC, wins over #14 BC, #15 Clemson and #20 UVA …far better OOC than OSU…

Do the OSU - Kansas and OSU - UGA if you want as well.

Bama logic will morph into whatever makes them look the best and get them into the playoff.

So, yes... you would hear some Bama fans still arguing for an 8 loss by 12 points Bama to be in.

bad decision

The worst decision that season was to have TCU in the top four to begin with.

Hell, Bama isn't better than their two "best losses" who each have 20+ losses to their name...

My personal favorite argument right now is "but Alabama would beat TCU or Ohio State". Well, since we are having that discussion, how about Tennessee? We don't even have to speculate on whether or not they would beat Bama--they did--and have the better win between the two as a result.

Here's how I see it.

Bama lost to Tennessee.

Tennessee. A team that was 0-15 over the past 15 years against Alabama.

Tennessee. A team that didn't make the Conference championship this year.

If you lose to Tennessee and don't make your conference championship you don't make the playoffs. End of story

With one of those being against Austin Peay, so let's keep it in perspective here.

Oh, and I believe Alabama had only put 17 up at the half in that game, too.

This is not your father-brother's Alabama.

This is a bad argument. If Alabama got in and won it all, then they deserved they invite just because they won?
