If we are being honest, Ohio State and Alabama are pretty interchangeable.
It just so happens one team lost less games.

People see 31-0 against Clemson and forget that going into that game Ohio State was 3-1 against top 10 teams based on the final rankings going into the Fiesta Bowl. That included a beatdown on Big 12 Champs Oklahoma in Norman. Even in that PSU loss they dominated everywhere but the score board. 2016 Ohio State was an elite team that simply ran into a better team that year.

Not just LSU you fricking gumptard. Alabama doesn’t deserve thus not in.

So by your logic, LSU should send their ‘07 trophy back? Hawaii should have taken their spot against OSU? Idiot.
Yes because Hawaii is the same as Ohio St, idiot

Well just sayin that Bama would be favored against any team above them except UGA.

And a 2-loss conference champion is the same as not going to the SECCG and having the 4th best conference record after losing to Tennessee and LSU.
They would be the 4 seed in an SEC playoff tournament but they deserve to be the 4 seed in the CFB playoff. Surrrrrreeeee

I hear they’re playing 10 times on a neutral site this year for the playoffs, followed by a side by side eye test by ESPN analysts so you’re probably right.

So? If that’s the standard why bother playing the season?

Exactly people completely ignore context. In 2007 everyone had 2 loses. LSU doesn’t make the BCS CG if they don’t win the SEC(ask 2007 UGA )
If Bama had won the SEC they’d be in playoff with 2 losses

Ohio State has a very good case for being deserving in 2016, as you lay out. As with my saying that OSU winning in 2014 didn’t mean the decision to put them in wasn’t wrong, the 31-0 loss to Clemson doesn’t mean that the decision to put them in wasn’t right.
While head-to-head has to stand for something, a 3-point loss on the road is about as close as it gets.
On the other hand, adding the Michigan (osu win, PSU blowout loss) and Pitt/Oklahoma data points in overwhelmingly favor Ohio State.

Tiger25 laid out that logic, dipshit. I was just holding him to his own standard.

what years in the past have they made the playoffs unwarranted?

I would rather have SEC Alabama in the playoffs than Ohio State.

Well I picked OSU to win it all at the start of the season and sticking with
It. Watch out bulldogs… with everyone healthy OSU can win this game.

You did so by completely ignoring context or are you so dim every one must spell it out for you?
2007 LSU doesn’t get in if Missouri or WVU win their last game. But both lost, giving each 2 losses LSU had a better SOS and better wins (something Bama does not have this year BTW) than those 2 plus OU and VT who we also had head to head win over, that’s why LSU got in. If Ohio St had another loss this year, Bama is probably in but in the context of this season, Bama has no case
