ND will never finish ranked #12 for this reason

It’s basically the same setup they had in the BCS

Yeh, people are acting like it’s a blind ranking. The committee members all know exactly what number each team is assigned

This is a rule change that doesn’t change anything . Committee would simply have moved ND from 11 to 13 this year

I hope they finish 13th every year, getting bumped from the12th spot the weekend before final selection.

Apparently it used to to be worse. I don't know how but a 6-4-1 ND team got to play in the Fiesta Bowl back in the 90s (and predictably got their shite pushed in).

This may be a deal if it were the BCS. With the committee, it’s not at all. Bunch of whiny, tiny-dick, insecure bitches up in this thread.

I don't understand how one school could get such a massive advantage over everyone else like that

I have a theory that they have a large number of alumni who get employed by ESPN, FOX, NBC, and CBS. Hence why sports media has such a massive bias for their program.

Canes would have been out this year under those rules and ND and Duke in.

I would bet that the ACC (along with other conferences) agreed to adjust their conference tiebreakers to include committee ranking as part of the tiebreaker in order to avoid shite like what happened this season with Miami not being in the conference championship in lieu of a 5 loss Duke team.

What’s funny is you guys still believe the polls are legit. The playoffs have proved the polls are totally biased with opinion. OSU was ranked #1 all freaking season and didn’t even make the Final Four. UGA and A&M were ranked highly and bowed out early. Miami was an afterthought and proved the pollsters are illegitimate.

How many years do we have to watch these ranked teams get beat before you guys wake up to the corruption? Polls are no longer needed. Give each P4 conference 3 auto bids and tell them that they decide whatever method they want to send their 3 reps to the playoff, This would force ND into a conference.

I know you guys would say that no way a 3rd place ACC team should get in over a 4th place SEC team, but again, Miami just did it with freaking ease. And your #1, #2, #3, #4, and $5 teams all shat the bed once again.

Eventually when we expand conferences will have auto bids and the polls will be gone, No other sport uses polls because everyone knows they are simply tools to manipulate public opinion and you guys eat it.

With the new rules, this year James Madison and Miami would have been out

Duke and Notre Dame would have gotten the spots

The Power 4 conference champions will be guaranteed spots in the 12-team field, along with the highest-ranked conference champion from the Group of 6, which now includes the new-look Pac-12. Notre Dame will also be a lock for the playoff if it finishes in the selection committee's top 12.

Had those rules existed this season, both ACC champion Duke and Notre Dame would have qualified for the playoff -- and No. 10 seed Miami, which played for the national title, would have been excluded.

All bullshite. Duke didn’t deserve to get in merely for upsetting Virginia, and if Notre Dame wants a more guaranteed slot, they should be told to join a fricking conference. If they don’t like the playoff rules, they don’t have to compete in the FBS. No one is holding a gun to their head.

Does Notre Dame have photos of other conference committees on Epstein Island or something?

Did the polls make Miami lose to 2 teams that each had 4 losses?

Insane and bullshite to allow one team to get DEI privileges.

Duke got in because they won the ACC. It wasn’t one upset. They won as many ACC games (actually 1 more) than Miami.

Duke didn’t get into the CFP, and rightfully so.

rank them 13th problem solved.

That won't happen. Because everyone hated the BCS and wanted a corrupt committee whose entire job is to manipulate the system.

Use BCS formula and quit letting corrupt individuals select the teams.
