I'm a straight white man who is ex-military and votes Republican. Griner and her merry band of idiots think I should be dead or in a re-education camp for that.
Forgive me if I have zero sympathy for someone who pretty openly shits on the country that affords her the opportunity to live an upper middle class lifestyle even though she has no skills of any value other than being significantly taller than most women on the planet.
Any professional athlete who whines about being oppressed and about how mean and racist all of us white people are can get fricked. I’m skeptical that anyone planted anything on her.
There are dozens of basketball players from the US playing in Russia. As with every other country, men’s basketball is a bigger draw and the top teams have multiple American players. Besides Griner, every single one has been able to leave the country without a problem and no one else has faced trumped up charges.

Supporting someone being punished for breaking the law? Yes. I don't want to see her get treated differently, for better or worse, just because she is American.
It cracks me up when someone who is very much not oppressed bitches and whines about how awful this country and the people in it are. Someone who gets paid an upper middle class salary and lives a better, more luxurious lifestyle than 99% of the world's population whining about how bad they have it just doesn't sit right with me.
