Just came into the thread to downvote and say I haven't watched in ages.

I haven't watched since Larry Bird, Danny Ange, Robert Parish and Kevin McHale were on the team.

NBA is a joke now.

It's not targeting the smallest population groups. It's presumably about not bending over backwards to cater to a relatively small subset of the potential audience that likely wasn't going to watch in the first place.

That “small subset” would double the current viewership at least. Forget the most popular years which is close to 3x as much as now but just over the last 10 years viewership has almost been cut in half.

They wrote articles about Kobe’s ability to draw fouls and celebrated it

Good for them… out of curiosity, I’d love to have an accurate deep dive on the different demographics, much more in depth than age, race and gender

Just like with LeBron, it became less about basketball and more about the baggage.

Definitely a talented player. He destroyed his own legacy by being a bitch.

That's just not accurate.

I don't believe this for a second. I'm guessing they are getting funny with the streaming numbers to make this claim. I remember people talking about the NBA. It would be part of daily conversation. That is long gone. No one gives a shite anymore.
