Just give the quarterbacks flags and let them play flag football.

He also got pushed into the QB.

I still don’t understand how it’s roughing the passer when he’s not passing. It was a sack. I know they won’t, but that call needs to be put to the forefront of importance the entire week regarding officiating. There was zero excuse to make that call.

There are too many late hits or illegal hits on QB’s that go uncalled.
When you see this bullshite get called, you realize that this is not about player safety but simply the gross manipulation of the games.

It’s not the Saints’ fault but stuff like this is what killed my NFL fandom. I was at the 2018 NFC Championship in the corner of the Dome closest to the no call PI. When a third party that is supposed to be unbiased can take control and so unabashedly alter the outcome of a game, it no longer became worth investing in to me.

Was it “corrupt” or did he just make a bad call at full speed? Why would he make a “corrupt” call like that when the game was basically over?

It is only "corrupt" because there will be no consequences for the most incompetent RTP call in history.
And not one other official came over to discuss it with him before assessing the penalty.

Looks like he took it easy on him to me. And in no way could be considered a foul wtf.

N.F.L. would take defense out of the game if they could. Everything about the game is tailored to the offense down to the hash marks.

Deliberately and unequivocally wants to immediately call it without any discussion.

Granderson could have knocked Dart into next week if he wanted to, but he showed restraint and STILL got flagged.
Someone in this thread said stuff like this turned him off to the NFL...I still watch some, but I do agree with him. Games aren't always decided by the players anymore it seems. And I don't think the officials are "corrupt", I just think they are more inept...and the pussified rules about tackling the QB make their job more difficult.
I am sure that Granderson must have done something very very subtle that warranted a roughing penalty by letter of the law...but I will be damned if I can see it.

But, why was it “corrupt”? Everything isn’t a conspiracy. How does the ref or anybody else benefit from him making that call? Sometimes people just make mistakes.

Terrible call? Yes, without a doubt, but jail? Can you be more dramatic, queen?

So really what should happen here is the NFL should come out and suspend that raef who made that call but they won’t do it because the ref was just doing what the NFL wants keeping the game close

This is why the NFL cannot be taken seriously

It wasn’t a hip drop tackle, but did they call that or is that a separate penalty?
It wasn’t actually a hip-drop as the “unweighting” was part of his initial contact straight on to QB’s upper back, and then legs just hit and the defender slid off the QB’s back from that same momentum as the QB just kind of collapsed a little unexpectedly with the defender then just letting him loose instead of landing on top of QB. Any rotation of hips occurred after releasing while trying to avoid landing on the QB (maybe a little from the inadvertent contact with QB’s leg disrupting moving leg forward).
That’s the only thing even remotely close to a penalty in that tackle. Maybe in real speed and only viewing from behind it looked a little close to a hip-drop, but the ref has to pick that flag up. It shouldn’t have been called in the first place, but it should have easily been waved off after the initial overreaction to the tackle. That call promotes the defender not releasing and just continuing to land on top of the QB with his additional 40 to 50 pounds.

The crazy thing is that Granderson could have really destroyed Dart but clearly held back in order not to hurt him. That is what makes this call even more egregious
Posted on 10/6/25 at 12:30 pm to Chad504boy
Bad call, yes. Why would you call it a corrupt call, when neither team is expected to do well? Nobody but Saints and Giants fans knew they were playing. The call went against them, but the Saints won the game, so the call is not favoring either team as far as gambling. Not corrupt, just bad. Maybe the sh*t games get the sh*t officiating crew.
