What's odd about it? North Louisiana schools wanted to take back over the LHSAA so they split it...hasn't really helped them all that much, however, as South Louisiana schools are the ones who have been winning the bulk of public school titles since the split...
It's odd that a team flips back and forth from select to non-select like Byrd did.

What does this even mean? You must live in a little private school bubble and not get out into the real world. You do realize the best facilities in the state are at public schools like WM, Zachary, Destrehan, Hahnville, Barbe. But I can predict your response, they didn’t pay for it the taxpayers did. Guess what the tax payers in those areas did and can afford to.

That was based on the rule change defining attendance zones as parishes instead of the school's own attendance zone

1975 st aug GOAT team in La history....
I'd say 1990 Ruston is the GOAT team. 2013 Acadiana is up there as well, they're the best I've seen since I starte getting invested in 2010. 2014 Ponchatoula would be up there if they won state.

1994 Hahnville was up there. 8 shutouts and weren’t even scored on until week 9 late in the game. Darren Barbier was one hell of a coach.

So would the best of 5A whoop up on the best of Division I? What did it look like before the split? The split was only a few years ago correct?
Most years, yes. I'll take a powerhouse West Monroe, Destrehan, Barbe, or Acadiana team over a CHS, STM, U-High, or Notre Dame most years. However, there are anomalies like this years U-High teams where they give you shades of the nationally ranked Evangel Christian and John Curtis teams before the split.

Wow, so only people associated with private schools are capable of running anything. What an arrogant and ignorant mentality.

Jlovel7...I am from West Monroe, but have lived in Virginia for 12 years now and the difference between Louisiana and Virginia high school football is night and day. People up here just dont care about it and per capita Louisiana produces the most NFL and D-1 players. Virginia has nearly 3 times the population of Louisiana, yet really isnt close to what Louisiana produces. Thomas Dale High School is 1 mile from my house and is one of the better 6A schools in Virginia and they would never beat West Monroe or any of the other Louisiana 5A schools due to many reasons. Also my wife's high school, Hopewell just won the 3A state championship Saturday and they would have a tough time with Louisiana 1A schools.

So the split stopped all of this "cheating and recruiting"?

I don’t really know much about the intricacies of HSFB so I can’t argue about much in this thread.... but damn man, why don’t you just come out and say that the private schools are better in every way, shape, and form than the public schools?? Why do you have such a sense of superiority?

yes... but it's wrong to hold back a kid for athletic gain....the rule just like a law doesn't make it right or ethical
