If the split never happened, then we and Acadiana would have been on opposite sides of the bracket in 2014.

Byrd was considered public back then, but we're the only current public school of those 6. Huge missed opportunity that I don't know if we'll ever get again.

They did, but for some reason, they were public in 2014 and 2015. If they stayed select the entire time, we still would've been in the opposite bracket as Acadiana, as we would've been #1, and Acadiana would've been #14.

I think it has to do with the % of students from outside of your designated attendance zone. It's likely that the change in the student mix with the outgoing seniors and incoming freshman made Byrd a non-select school in 2014 & 2015. It's such an odd thing, really.

Please note that Brother Martin, Jesuit, Rummel and probably Holy Cross and St. Augustine too, have enrollments of 1,000+ boys only grades 9-12.

Lol no. Bad info on Rummel & holy cross. Don’t know about the others.

Rummel had 685 boys as of 2015.

Holy cross might have 1k boys K-12. Might

I just checked and you are right - enrollment is way down, used to be about 300 per class/grade...

As of 2015: Jesuit 1,187 Brother Martin 906 and the rest lower than that

FWIW I don't like the split. But something needed and needs to be done to stop the cheating and recruiting by private schools.

So the split stopped all of this "cheating and recruiting"?

What's odd about it? North Louisiana schools wanted to take back over the LHSAA so they split it...hasn't really helped them all that much, however, as South Louisiana schools are the ones who have been winning the bulk of public school titles since the split...
