Will Bama be wearing Michigan uniforms if they play Ohio State? Because that’s the only chance they have of beating OSU

no but they’d get in for being the 5th ranked conference champ, because that’s the rule.

This is how unbelievably stupid this whole thing is, they come up with a stat to make it appear that Bama losing to two 6-6 teams is a good thing. This whole thing is a fricking sham and it’s not just because of Bama. They pick their desired results and then find a justification. I’m not the least bit excited for this.

Exactly. That tweet by Mandel is hilarious when you look at it in context of Bamas losses.

it would be one thing if they didn’t make up an excuse to put Bama in last year, but now with this it truly just appears they get the nod by name and brand no matter what

Very strange, bama has 3 losses but the tweet is focused on them being 6-1 vs teams above .500.... That means.....help me out here

It means the committee is emulating the March Madness model.

Focus on the wins, not the losses.

Okay look I’m not a bama fan by any means but who not above them deserves to be?

Miami? I mean maybe I guess but they have no ranked wins and 2 really bad losses, same as bama.

Ole Miss? Bad losses to Kentucky and Florida. Same as bama. Yes they beat Georgia but so did bama. And they lost to LSU who bama beat. So probably a toss up at best

South Carolina? Lost h2h to bama and ole miss. Yes they’re hot right now but you can’t put them ahead of those two when they lost h2h.

I get the frustration and everything but when you look at it logically it makes sense. Sucks but is what it is.

Alabama will probably play Notre Dame, not Ohio State.

The sad truth is that Alabama would beat ND and Ohio State.

If Texas loses to Georgia then I expect to see #11 Alabama at #6 Texas in the 1st round.

If Texas beats Georgia then #11 Alabama at #6 Ohio St

If the committee truly goes by the metrics it claims it does, then the best judge of Alabama and Ole Miss should be common opponents.

The facts are with the four common opponents between Ole Miss and Bama-

1- UGA - Ole Miss 3 score clear victory vs Bama 1-score game decided late in the fourth.

2- USC - Ole Miss 3 score clear road victory vs Bama 1-score game decided late in the fourth.

3- Oklahoma - Ole Miss clear victory vs Alabama 3-score loss.

All overwhelmingly favor Ole Miss

So, the question is, does Alabama’s blowout win over LSU vs Ole Miss OT loss to LSU make up the overwhelming gap in the other three games????

I’d argue at best for Alabama, the OU-LSU results are a push with Ole Miss.

That leaves the fact that Ole Miss had convincing wins over UGA and at USC, compared to Bama’s games that came down to the wire.

On the road? In late December? You sure about that?

Have you watched Notre Dame at all over the last 8 - 10 weeks?

Both would be outright favorites over this particular Alabama team at a neutral site, much less on the road at a place where 90+% of Alabama's starting 22 is playing in an environment have never experienced anything remotely like.

This ain't 2012 or 2015 or even 2020, homeslice.

What? Miami lost to a ranked team on the road by 4 points and a 7-5 team that took UGA to 8 OTs on the road by 5 points.

Compare that to Bama losing to two 6-6 teams including one by three TDs and them together by a combined 26 point.

What horrible losses

South Carolina had a bad loss to Ole Miss, okay, but that is a top 15 team and they were dealing with significant injuries. Bama again lost by 21 points to a team that went 2-6 in the SEC.

Some of y’all live to cherry pick stats and make shite up though.

Losing on the road to a GT team that took UGA to 8 OTs, and a 9-3 Syracuse team who beat #20 UNLV are "really bad losses"?

Which begs the question, why is UNLV still ranked ahead of Syracuse? Why hasn't 9-3 Duke, who took SMU to OT and got blown out by Miami, not sniffed the rankings? Who has Mizzou beaten to stay ranked all season so Bama has that extra top 25 win?

One year it's best bama win, the other it's best bama loss. It never ends.

If anyone didn’t think Bama would get in, I’m not sure what to tell you. You could see this coming a mile away. They likely decided Bama would be in at around 6:00 on Saturday and just came up with some bullshite after to have a token justification.

Hopefully Clemson wins the ACC title game in a nail biter. Then hopefully the committee doesn’t penalize SMU for playing an extra game and that would knock Bama out.
