By a pure numbers perspective, McGee is the 40th in the NBA in PER. Nene is tied for 87th.

One's 24, one is 29. One is due to make $11 mil next 5 years, One makes $1.5 and is an unrestrictive FA in 2013.

I guess we will see what George Karl can do to make him "get it".

ETA- yeah, Im trolling

Who says they have to sign him? They use him to make a run this year and then they can do as they please.

They get a declining Nene off the books, which is already shaping up to be an awful contract. 4 more years of $11 mil for an aging big man.

They aren't gonna make a run at shite with him manning the C. He has some of the most inflated numbers in the league. He still plays like a rookie. His offensive game is solid, but him on defense is comical.

Ok, and that's fine. Maybe they want to give Faried more run.

Either way, it's merely a move to shed Nene's contract.

Blazers management should be thrown a parade for what they did to New Jersey

If Karl can get through to him and somehow his IQ jumps, the sky is limit for the guy. But I just don't see it.

Basically.

frick Mitch Kupchak. Two first round picks and a huge trade exception to work with and the Laker bench is still one of the worst in the NBA. Great job Mitch.

And Nick Young is going to ball out of control with the Clippers. Perfect spot for him.

Maybe with the thin air in Denver Javale can actually pull off his in-game free throw line dunk?

Wouldn't count on it. Chances are he could be even dumber. He has asthma.

So which teams got better/worse from today's trades?

Anyone improve enough to say they are a contender/deep playoff run?
