Less of a deal than it was 5 years ago at this point. Remember when Wainwright had it people were wondering if he would ever come back the same. He came back better....

I did not know Sano had TJ

That's what I mean. Gonna depend on the person, not the surgery

“The annual number of MUCL reconstructions continues to rise dramatically. During the first 12 years (1974-1985), a total of 8 (2.0%) MUCL reconstructions were performed on MLB players. In subsequent decades, this number increased to 44 (11.0%) from 1986-1995, 123 (30.8%) from 1996-2005, and 225 (56.3%) from 2006-2015. Of all Tommy John surgeries performed over 42 years, nearly one-third (n = 131, 32.75%) were performed in the last 5 years alone (2011-2015).”

1/3 of all TJ surgeries have happened within the last 5 years

Honestly I think that would be a GREAT fit for the Yankees. I highly doubt the Marlins would try to trade him, but the Yankees need to at least ask about him. He would make the Yankees offense even more legit.

Yeah and under team control for awhile. Would take some prospects though so not sure how I would feel

Cardinals are going nowhere. Might as well explore moving Lynn, Gyorko, Oh, and Rosenthal.

If I was the Yankees, I'm probably only giving up good prospects for a starting pitcher that is under team control.

However, I don't really like much on the market right now, so I hope they do nothing.

I really hope the Yankees go after Eric Hosmer hard this winter. He's a perfect fit. Will only be 28 next season, too.

Links to Quintana worry me... I would hate to give up multiple top tier prospects. Especially with the injuries that have hit them.

Isn't Zach Britton a free agent this year? How much money will he command? Biggest contract in MLB history for a reliever (per year)? Assuming he comes back fine from this injury.

Obviously that still wouldn't be much compared to other players.

Saw on MLB trade rumors discussing Quintana and Abreu to the Yankees for a package including Sheffield, Rutherford, and lower guys

I think the bigger question is if the O's deal him. He just came back last night and would be a huge get for anyone, but particularly Houston or the Nats

Also it looks like Britton is a free agent after next year
