At least Giles was a closer, they seem to hold more value

One name I hear again and again from scouts of selling teams: RHP Forrest Whitley. Astros have an absolute gem. Very unlikely to be traded.

A Red Sox trade for White Sox third baseman Todd Frazierseems “almost inevitable,” according to Rosenthal.

The Yankees will be buyers at the deadline, but will be cautious, not wanting to sacrifice too much future value in exchange for immediate upgrades, says Rosenthal. One team that matches their needs well is the Athletics, who have help at first base (Yonder Alonso) and on the mound (Sonny Gray and a number of relievers).

Rosenthal characterizes Gray to the Cubs as unlikely — Gray would likely cost Ian Happ or another top young hitter, and Rosenthal guesses the Cubs would rather go forward with their current collection of rotation talent

Doubt much but you never know, they may attach a reliever in as well

So they don't think Devers is ready? Seems like that'd be most logical solution

They showed last year they were willing to call up Moncada right?

I can already see it now, Chavis shipped out for Frazier when we have the solution in house.

Ah, makes sense then. For some reason I thought he was MLB ready (hence the confusion)

I think the deal with Devers is if they put him on the 40 man they'll be in the luxury tax or whatever.

Statistically he is, per people like Dave Cameron. The problem is they are being extremely conservative.

I miss Steinbrenner. No one wanted to win more than him. And he was a great quote machine.

Rasmus is just an unusual person. 2-3 years ago he started talking about an early retirement. I thought he was going to be awesome. I was wrong.
