They are aggressive, correct. But even Strider spent most of '21 in the minors(albeit not long in any one spot) before coming up. He didn't go straight to the bigs.

I just don't trust the Angels in their player development.

You're comparing two different orgs, with different philosophies, and most importantly two different categories of player.

Talk about setting someone up to fail.

How do you know they are setting him up fail? How do you know the kid isn’t MLB ready? Is your judgement based on what you think of the Angels or what you have seen of him?

MLB announced that Sunday games in Southern California have been postponed because of Hurricane Hilary. The Dodgers, Padres and Angels will all play split doubleheaders on Saturday, instead.

You think a GM with a lot of money to play with needs to be fired into the sun for overpaying for arguably the most dynamic player of all time?

hey, devils advocate and a hot take from mercury’s arse: if Ohtani was a difference maker, he’d be a difference maker. He’s missing starts in August because of a tired arm. He’s probably no more dynamic a hitter than Matt Olson. He won’t be worth the contract he’s going to get.

Didn’t there used to be a daily cards thread here at one point? Did they disappear since the cards suck now?

There may have been threads here titled daily cards thread, but they weren’t ever started daily.

It is very fair to wonder how long he can play both ways like this. I think he might have to transition to a bullpen arm at some point.

Pete Alonso is a fricking douche. He just threw Masyn Winn’s first hit ball into the stands instead of the dugout.

ETA: hopefully Stubby Clapp whips his arse again

#STLCards    Director of Security, Phil Melcher, confirms to MLB (dot) com that the team retrieved the ball from Masyn Winn's first MLB hit.

#Mets 1B Pete Alonso threw the ball into the crowd - to the displeasure of the Cards.

The fan will get an autographed ball, jersey and hat.

The formula for WRC+ is: wRC+ = (((wRAA / PA + League R / PA) + (League R / PA – Park Factor * League R / PA)) / (AL or NL wRC / PA excluding pitchers))*100.

That’s a fairy tale fricking made-up statistic.
