When did they start releasing the names of the voters ob the ballots? Wasn't that a recent change along with 10 selections instead of 15

Maybe not first ballot but probably. He just reaches the peak WAR cutoff but is short on total WAR. However, I generally just pay attention to peak WAR

1. This is a great Hall class. Congrats to those elected.

2. I never gave much of a shite about the 100% thing, but the writers caved in for a reliever? Geez...

3. Halladay is the first first-ballot entry to be dead for his induction since Christy Mathewson...which was from the first ever Hall class. Damn.

4. Tired of seeing biases screwing over a guy like Schilling. Glad Edgar got over the DH hump. Maybe a Rockie finally gets in next year?

Bonds pre-Giants was well on his way to 1st ballot HOF’r

Bonds after signing with the Giants was arguably a more dominant hitter than Babe Ruth for a long stretch. Obviously we know what happened.

And like others have said Mussina over Schilling is a crime. Schilling was a GREAT player for an extremely long time. Mussina was a great player for a little while but a very good player for a number of years.

Maddux
Pedro
Randy Johnson
Griffey
Rickey Henderson
Bonds
Clemens

All worthy of 100% of the vote before Mariano.

And Pujols and Trout will be by the time their careers are over.

Rickey Henderson, 94.8%, 27 people did not vote for him.

I can see this one through the media's eyes. Henderson was such a flake I could see where he would rub some of the old fogie "traditionalist" writers the wrong way. Some of those old farts would leave you off a ballot if you played DH in one game.

I could also pretty much guarantee the only reason Steve Carlton didn't get 100% his first year of eligibility was his tendency to tell reporters to go frick themselves after a game.
