re: Milroe struggling badly at Senior Bowl

I don't know why more guys in Milroe's spot don't commit to the Taysom Hill role. Imagine Jalen Milroe returning kicks, runnings routes, taking direct snaps, playing upback on Punt and gunner on KO. Would be incredible.
You'll take a beating, but you'll play a shite ton of snaps and make good money. You'll also always have value as the third quarterback on the roster without taking up the third quarterback spot.

Taysom Hill is a much more physical player than most of the dudes in the NFL. He's on a different planet than Milroe.
Milroe didn't have a problem breaking tackles from corners and safeties but he isn't a guy that lowered his shoulder on linebackers like Hill will do. He avoided contact whenever possible. Guys like Taysom Hill and Tim Tebow sought it out. Milroe tried to sweep cag a DB on a pick 6 return when he could've just pushed the guy out of bounds. He isn't going to sign up to take a physical beating.
I think his ceiling is early career Cordarrelle Patterson. A positionless athlete that is going to make a roster and have a wow play or two every year but just isn't great at anything besides running fast in a straight line

8” hands is tiny for a QB. For comparison’s sake, Alex Smith has 9 3/8” hands and he was criticized relentlessly for how small his hands are.

if Sanders/Ward both go 1 and 2, then the Giants will get him at #3. If not, he will go top 10. Mark my words.

Because he can't. Hill is overall more athletic then people realize. All Milroe has is straight line speed. He has mediocre lateral agility and not the best footwork. He basically has to turn his entire body to make cuts. You're really not going to see him weaving through traffic because he can't unless he's playing a bad defense that can't tackle anyway.
He also has bad field vision. Hence why so much of his yards came running off tackle or up the middle on scrambles where the field is wide open and he doesn't have to find a running lane. He didn't have too many productive runs up the middle in which the playcall was a power run or QB draw. Plays on which he has to read the line and find the open running lane.
He also sucks on running a read option. Kept the ball so many times even with the defender was clearly keyed on him and not the RB.
He also is not that physical. Not that he can't be, he can. He just choses not to be. Hill is very physical. Milroe rather run OOB 3 yards before the 1st down marker instead of fighting 1 defender for a 1st down.

You'd be right if Jalen didn't fumble at every opportunity. He turned it over 10 times in his last three games of 2024 I believe. Go watch his 1st quarter against Michigan's backups where he turned it over 4 times, fumbling twice, throwing a pick and another with a sack on 4th down. I've never seen anything like it.

Better to be exposed now than some team drafting him early and being absolutely hated by fans. This way if he’s a6th round pick no one will really remember him.

Milroe reportedly “struggled” much of practice, throwing INT’s, skipping balls, and having issues with accuracy all day long.
Now if he can develop a chronic injury to go along with the inconsistent production, he will be a lock to be the Saints 1st round draft pick.

Yea, a lot of those throws is someone majorly struggling to grip the ball.

Milroe has the perfect build to run the tush-push. Zone-read in short yardage situations.
Except for the fact that he’s really not that tough and is fumble-prone.
Outside of some backups in the Shula-era that started due to injury, he’s the worst QB we’ve had this century. Outside of running fast straight ahead when there’s a huge hole, he’s just not a good football player.

Has he tried visualizing lsu's defense?

Spot on. Incredible in open space, needs major work at running the read. He had a real knack for finally giving it to the RB at the worst possible moments.

Feel bad for Millie. You go to the Senior Bowl to boost your draft stock, not tank it.

Another concern for Milroe is he has small hands
If he's more than situationally used, he'll be a fumbling machine.... And there's nothing, nothing the NFL hates more than players that fumble. As Jimmy Johnson once cut a guy right after a game after he fumbled 3 times, saying.... Let another team have the guy that fumbles.

Unfortunately they don't let you tuck it and run for 70 yard TD's on these passing drills, or he'd be lighting them up.

should have switched to RB or WR.
He would be a great running back. He’s probably too proud to switch.

he is just a Denard Robinson re-gen. never understood why people thought he was a QB...guy is a RB

He hates contact. Literally does everything possible to avoid it even if lowering his shoulder will pick up a key first down. He also fumbles pretty easily. So no, not a RB either.

Always knew he was a shitty QB.

He's Anthony Richardson with less athleticism and a better surrounding cast.
I think I'd rather have Milroe in the 4th round than Richardson with the 4th overall pick.
