Yep that all started in the western Kentucky game right after bama

I remember watching that game and thinking “uh-oh”

You could see the shift to the JJ offense

Only chance OSU had for winning was if Gundy outcoached Miles. shite maybe OSU does win vs LSU.

Don’t lose to an average Iowa St team in OT.

That's cute. Guess he shouldn't have lost to 5-4 Iowa State and we would have found out.

I mean they’d just learned of a plane crash they had been asked if they wanted to postpone the game but voted no, and it was a Friday night in bad conditions

Yes they should’ve won but they had things going against them. It was the perfect storm for Iowa St

Spencer Ware would have destroyed that weak defense.

oSu only wanted a stop a half. Eddy had the philosophy of get the ball back and the Offense will score. The Cowboys I believe were top 10 in forcing turnovers that year if not top 5

Highly unlikely.

Possible if JJ played the same way he did against the mulligans.

frick Gundy. All he had to do was take care of business and we'd have another title flag flying in Tiger Stadium.

Would not have mattered. LSU would not have a turnover because Miles would just let the three headed monster Ware, Ford, and Blue run all over their D like they did to every other team that year with exception to Alabama. Jefferson may have thrown 8 passes

LSU would have skull fricked that OK State team. He admitted back then prior to the game, in interviews, that they didn't deserve to be in the title game and would get beat down.

Grundy has lost his mind and his memory is failing, LSU was avg. around 40 pts a gm and give up like 12 pts a gm. That's on memory so I could be off. Bama was the better team but we should have played their pussy arse.

Grundy is just talking out of his arse to honor his team. I get it, but there is no way he really believes that.

Okie State got outgained by nearly 200 yards by Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl. They were completely outplayed and only won that game due to Stanford's kicker shitting the bed. And let's look at it another way.

I won't defend Okie St. too much here, but this is what SEC teams often do in big bowls not playing for a national title. See Bama 2013, UF 2020, 2017 Auburn etc. The motivation of playing in the Rose Bowl or Orange bowl is nowhere near as high as playing for a national championship.

Some of the controversy that year was the media had put Bama into the title game before Oklahoma St. even played their game against OU. They commercial was like "Oklahoma St. will win the Big 12 if they win this game" and nothing about having a shot to win a national title. That was a 9 win OU team who Okie St. took out back and put them to pasture.

I still think you don't need a rematch if you win a road game against someone. Okie St. should have gotten their shot because Bama had theirs

LSU would've won the game, but this claim is wrong. LSU scored 40+ in 8/13 games (regular season and SEC championship) and was held to below 30 just twice.

If y’all played the way you played against Bama

Since when was OSU’s defense in the same stratosphere as Bama’s? OSU was 107th in total defense and 61st in scoring. They were not good. We saw what LSU looked like versus an elite top 5 offense in Oregon.

Y’all remind me a lot of that 2014 Florida State team that was holding on by a thread all season and got whooped in the playoffs

That 2014 FSU team had like 6 or 7 games in which they had to make halftime comebacks. The 2011 LSU team crushed every team but Bama.

I think you just have an hate boner for LSU because this is an LSU site mostly and you want troll as many as possible.

Absolutely no chance. It would a defense like Bama and LSU, bc the talent was too much to overcome with coaching.

Again, they lost to Iowa St or whatever and almost lost to Stanford. LSU didn’t struggle with anyone else and would not have lost inside a home dome to anyone else that season.

Excuses. Sheesh. It took OT for them to beat Stanford in the bowl. LSU would have beat both by multiple TDs. It is absurd to assume LSU would lose just because Bama stifled them. Bama and LSU both had unreal NFL defenses.
