Ok. Without wasting time looking at all of the video archives to validate their claims in my own mind, I just have to ask this question: If home team bias was so bad, did they go back and compare ALL players' home and away stats and watch all of their games form that year to determine if everyone got the same treatment?

Because unless you do that, how do you know Jordan didn't deserve the award? If everyone was getting their home stats inflated, doesn't that mean that Jordan was on equal grounds as everyone else? And so, if he won the award, that must mean he was better on the road than everyone else, right?

People are so desperate to unseat Jordan from the best of all time status he earned.

I just don’t know if we can really judge someone playing in this era of basketball.

That’s not real basketball.

Exactly

We just don’t know

That era of basketball is a bunch of fake news make believe. Y’all fell for aggressive marketing with the MJ stuff.

You say "exactly" but then ignore my point. These people are trying to discredit him on the basis of home cooking stat keeping, but fail to use their own logic in considering how that same home cooking would apply to all players.

I don't have to "fall" for anything when I actually watched the man play basketball. Did you?

Nike brainwashed a generation into believing this man was a basketball god while stat keepers were juicing his stats the whole time.

“Be Like Mike” a fraud

Well here’s the crux of it…
quote:

Rucker explained that, in his view, inflating certain box-score statistics for the home team was a common league-wide practice.
Yes, MJ benefited from home cooking. But by the dude’s own admission, so did everyone else. So it’s not the magnitude of the stats that matter in determining a player of the year award… it’s the relative outcomes. And relative to the rest of the league (who again, also benefited from home cooking), MJ still wins

All I know is Jordan was the most clutch player that I’ve ever seen and that’s not debatable. I don’t know about inflated stats, but that wouldn’t surprise me. Today, it’s impossible to fix stats with everyone watching and fantasy being involved. The NFL does minor stat corrections every week.

Also, 6 titles and probably would have been 8 or 9 if he doesn’t “retire”.

We simply don’t know.

The more I look into it the more it’s apparent the era and Michael in particular are loads of fake news.

Y’all have lied to us for too long.

The NBA, Nike, and ESPN needed MJ.

They did everything they could to elevate him to GOAT status.

Fake news.

That was MJ’s era when you had to play 1 on 1.

Lebron is averaging 64 points per game against this defense.

I want nothing to do with this argument. All I want to say no help defense was an absolute joke and a physical player that could handle the ball would dominate with it

Not when he has to spend 40 minutes a night guarding someone on the other end of the court one on one as well. Not when they don’t call ticky tacky light contact as fouls. Not when you actually had to dribble and couldn’t carry 3-4 steps. Not when you were allowed to hand check ball handlers.

LeBron is by far the most privileged, spoiled, and catered to athlete in North American sports history and there is no one that is a remotely close second.
