The other main reason I gave the Browns an A+ shouldn't be a surprise. They got quarterback Shedeur Sanders at No. 144 to finish their seven-pick draft. He was my No. 5 overall prospect in the class and clear QB1. He brings excellent accuracy, completing 74% of his throws last season. He brings toughness in the pocket. I think he will be an outstanding pro QB, and I believe we will look back on this pick in a few years and question what the rest of the NFL was doing.

The whole thing was so unprofessional and over the top ridiculous.
He needs to be put out to pasture. Although I'm going to go out on a limb and say that ESPN probably loved it, and even encouraged it.

ESPN is all the way in on the E part of their name

This dude is just destroying whatever credibility he had left with his Sanders fixation.

People dig in on takes when they’re clearly wrong all the time. Whether it be for clicks or a deflection technique to make themselves feel better. But this has become psychotic, the dude was absolutely losing his mind. It was like watching pride on ESPN

I didn't watch the meltdown on ESPN though.

Maybe not on this one.
But he did claim he'd retire if jimmy Clausen didn't become a successful nfl qb.

I mean odds are he is going to be sitting behind Dillon Gabriel.
Kiper always looks like an idiot on draft day, but he went full on mental with Shadeur.
It was just an awful broadcast that was hard to watch.

Normally I would say ESPN pushed it, but all of could see how uncomfortable Reece Davis was getting, and he's a company guy through and through. Zero shot he's that nervous and finally interjects if that as ESPN approved.

You never see the other tv people being that visibly frustrated with a cohost, no matter how ridiculous they’re being. Mel was definitely going rogue and pissing everyone else off, and that’s why I think it may actually affect how ESPN uses him going forward. You can be a retard or hot take artist all day long as long as everyone else is bought in on the bit, but it seems pretty clear to me they weren’t with Mel’s meltdown

Got a clip of that one? Or was it just the whole process? I didn't really pick up on that. I only watched ESPN for the first round and had it on NFLN the rest because Kiper was so bad in round one.

His victory lap is going to be incredible if Sanders is any good.

ESPN will fire Mel Kiper in the next few weeks
Everyone always knew he was an idiot.
Now he’s been exposed as a shill for the Sanders Clown Family.
No one will ever take what he says again seriously and the embarrassment and damage he has done to the ESPN draft coverage is borderline irreparable.

That was the most pissed off I've ever seen Rece Davis. He was done with Mel

I've seen people less passionate defending family members and spouses. It was funny for the first few segments, then it got weird and uncomfortable. Makes you question if he was paid or promised access in return.

quote:It's going to be interesting. On one hand, his behavior has been embarrassing, on the other hand, he's probably generated a ton of 'engagement' for ESPN. Just look at this board, there were dozens of threads on this topic and Kiper/Sanders have been a hot topic all over social media. Maybe that's what ESPN wanted all along?

It was beyond what you're even imagining.
Rece Davis finally flat out called him out on air

It's really not. His most famous moment was going back and forth with a gm during the draft about a pick(he was right about). This isn't any different.
