It's not his job to intercept passes yet he does have 7 INTs.
How many of those are those shitty as pass deflections (i.e. good plays by his team mates) and him catching it, I know for a fact at least 2 of them are.

Dude...Chris Paul isn't a center. And Verlander doesn't hit the ball.
I see what you're trying to say but terrible analogies
I am exaggerating them. Te'o doesn't blitz much nor does he shoot gaps that's not his role

This is a pretty dumb thread. Te'o plays in a 3-4 defense in which the DL rush the passer and the DC rarely, if ever, calls blitzes. Te'o's job is to roam the short intermediary middle of the field in passing downs.
You're calling other people dumb when you can't even call the defense scheme the right name, or you just don't know the schemes of a 4-3 and a 3-4.
A 3-4 has 3 down linemen and is far more blitz heavy than the 4-3, which has 4 down linemen. I don't know which defense ND plays, but you either got the 4-3/3-4 mixed up, or don't know defenses.

As one example, I've seen some people reference the INT against USC - that the USC QB threw the pick right at Te'o. Well, yeah, but that's because his technique and instincts were perfect. He didn't bite on the play action, dropped into the right zone, looked left to find the boundary WR, and then over his field side shoulder to identify Marquise Lee on a crossing route, and then got his back around to make a play on the ball. But yeah, pretty routine stuff.
That was a great read by Te'o (He is brilliant on the field), but the throw was HORRIBLE. He threw it way in front of ML.

Manti has one sack, and he's teabagging the haters with it.

He doesn't blitz much and has 7 interceptions this year.

The great ones do such a good job that no one notices how great they were in their role until they are gone.

Since people are bringing up players who didn't play college ball this year, I'll point out that during his 9 years with the Saints, Sam Mills had a total of 10.5 sacks.

why don't you mention the 7 ints he has playing the LB position?
its actually not that rare for a LB to have a ton of INTs
almost every year there is at least one LB with around 6 or so picks.

in fact, here are the stats since 2004 for most picks each year for LBs
2011 - Phillip Steward - Houston - 6
2010 - Evan Harris - Miami Ohio - 6
2009 - Sam Maxwell - Kentucky - 6
2008 - Mark Herzlich - Boston College - 6
Joe Pawelek - Baylor - 6
2007 - Craig Robertson - North Texas - 5
2006 - Tony Taylor - Georgia - 7
2005 - Garland Heath - NC State - 5
Clint Ingram - Oklahoma - 5
Caleb Campbell - Army - 5
Daniel Holtzclaw - Eastern Michigan - 5
2004 - Matt Grootegoed - Southern Cal - 5
7 picks for a LB is really good, but its not like other guys haven't been close or right at it recently and its only going to become more common with the way offense has gone pass happy.
