Mostly correct. I started out playing 1st. Played 3rd as we got older and I certainly wasn't the strongest on the team. I had a good glove, but just couldn't cover enough ground to be a good shortstop. I was quick, but never fast.

I mean you can’t put your worst players in the infield and expect quick innings

When I played getting to play in the infield was like being promoted. It meant you didn't suck anymore.

kids dont pull many balls in little league. to pull a ball you have to swing before it seems like the ball will get there most kids will let it travel ,not on purpose, it just feels more natural to start the swing later than earlier

3rd base needs evolve. When kids are 9 it’s less relevant. By the time they’re 12 you need someone with a good arm to offset the increase in speed from home to first base.

Not true all the time. Right Fielders tend to have the best arms and if you have a right handed pitcher that throws hard, right field becomes even more important due to late swings.

I would change 3rd to strongest arm, imo. Nailed the rest though.

I agree with this as kids get older. Little League (12U) doesn’t really have the factors you listed at play very often. Now, if you want to get into the upper levels of travel ball for 12U, maybe so.

The OP needs to read this book.

It even covers things like the people who don't play ball. Outstanding piece of literature I got my wife a couple of decades ago.
