I won’t say Catholic didn’t benefit from the split but Gabe Fertitta elevated the program and unlocked the full potential of Catholic kind of like Saban with LSU. I would bet Catholic still had a few titles without the split especially considering Brewerton always chokes against them.

there is a proposal that will be voted on in the January LHSAA meeting to allow one free transfer to HS kids and retain their eligibility

Again, if your program is taking athletics seriously and fully invested you won’t lose much if any, but if you are a bum program who thinks you are entitled to an athlete because they live in your zone while the principal doesn’t care, have bum coaches and community don’t give a shite, expect to lose any truly talented kids.
