Zachary has more in common with rednecks than it does shrimping by a wide margin.

Doesn’t matter . How many titles did catholic win before the split ? I will answer for you zero . The fact is without the split they would still have zero
Thats so dumb

Catholic is something like 9-1 vs Zachary and Acadiana since the split, who have like 10 of the public titles combined

Devery is the school's most heralded professional athlete as they have very few kids sign D1 scholarships, much less get to play on Sundays.

Opelousas has an eligibility problem, it’s a poor, poor city, but loaded with talent. If they can figure out how to keep these kids eligible and sometimes just get them to even play, they could be a contender most years.

Looked it up

From 2013-2022(the split),, Zachary and Acadiana combined for 8 of the 10 public state titles

Catholic was 6-1 against those teams during that time………So who benefited from Catholic not being in the public division again?

Same number as Saint CHarles, Calvary, westgate, Jesuit(post integration) among many others ...

don't forget the bottom line Catholic vehemently politicked AGAINST the split and voted against the split EVERY time.

How many has west monroe, ruston or Hahnville won since the split- yet they voted for it.

Thanks genius. Some of these kids have shitty parent/s I wasn’t trying to make a commentary on social issues, just talking football.

Not gonna happen

Probably not, but it’s my fantasy damn it. Lol

It could happen at the highest classifications, because the gap between selects and non selects is slimmer but at the lower classes NO way if you look at the still non split sports it's not close. But the traditional public schools actually have a bigger issue with the "open enrollment" schools than true privates.

You must be splitting atoms at the nuclear plant because getting eligible is not on the school and it is a social issue. Because not being able to play football is but a small part of their life - not being educated is much bigger. It's the LBJ effect.

Sorry dickhead, some people in their community like to help people, especially less fortunate children. The kids didn't choose their parents. There is a good group of people in Opelousas that run after-school programs to help kids stay out of trouble and most come from terrible home life's. Maybe you had the luxury of growing up with out pieces of shite for parents, others aren't so lucky.

Keeping them eligible gives them the opportunity to play football and be part of a team and learn life skills. So yea, it can be important.

The split helped catholic only in the sense that it further provided an us vs them mentality. The entire program had begun to shift to going out and advocating for the school starting with the feeders, investing in the program financially including going out and getting better and younger coaches like Ferttita.... did Ferttita cross the line.. absolutely but they weren’t out right buying any players as so many want to think.. they bent their own rules and the lhsaa rules in how the found these kids.. I know it’s a bit more intricate but this wasn’t the pony express of SMU..

I hate the mantra of everyone was doing it but most winning schools were going out and highlighting(recruiting) how their school is best. Publics and private s.

This should shut up the narrative against catholic, but it won’t.

It’s not dumb when it’s the truth . I just stated a fact that Catholic had zero titles before the split . And while agree with the fact they have elevated the program they had some talented teams before that didn’t make the finals . It’s a lot harder to win 5 games than what they have done now . Would they have a title without the split maybe maybe not.
