It’s certainly a deal.

He’s still having seizures which means that they haven’t been completely controlled by medication. How big of a deal it is depends on the types of seizures he has. If they are severe seizures types, then he’s still at risk of Sudden Unexpected Death Syndrome.

What medication he takes to control his epilepsy and how his body responds to the drugs also matter. These are psychotropic drugs that can effect your behavior, eating, or energy levels. It could be likely that he doesn’t experience any side effects, but if I’m a GM who was considering making him a franchise QB, I’d have a lot of questions I need answered now.

I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I know exactly how you feel. I've lost opportunities, friends, even my driver's license because of epilepsy. But despite all that, I know I've been lucky compared to most. Hang in there, brother.

I have an uncle who has been dealing with this for like 50 years and I had no idea outgrowing seizures was a thing.

The thing about epilepsy is that every case is different. Some people, like me, are lucky, and they stop having seizures, and can get off of medication, too. I don't know how or why it happened, but it did.

Still, all these years later, I don't drink, don't do drugs, don't swim, and don't drive unless it's necessary. I also avoid strobe lights. I'm still cautious, even three decades since my last seizure.

Going to be a pretty stout waiver. NFL would have to insist on exemption from liabilities of possible future neurological injuries that may occur from the pounding Fields will endure for the next 10-15 years.

There are many benign epilepsy syndromes that occur in kids. Some people stop having seizures and even can get off meds over time.

Seizure meds can be pretty well tolerated. People can get a little sleepy or irritable from them but overall epilepsy is probably the most manageable neurological condition.

My son did.

Scary as shite, btw. Woke up early one evening with him moaning in his room when he was in first grade. Walked in to find in having what turned out to be a gran mal seizure. ZERO health issues prior to that. Absolutely terrifying.

Turned out he had some sort of childhood form of epilepsy and we treated it with medication. Never had another seizure, and he eventually outgrew it and was removed from medication right about the time he started puberty.

Did not know it was something you could outgrow later in life, but maybe it's the same thing.

Many years ago, a good friend of mine had a mild form of epilepsy.

It was easily controlled as long as he stayed on his medication.

I know, well knew a woman that had never had a seizure in her life, then she went to see The Lego Movie 2, had a seizure and died. She was in her 40s.

Yeah, I remember years ago me and several guys from work had a pick up basketball game going and one of the guys went into an epileptic seizure. It about scared me out of my wits, I thought the guy was dying but after a little time had passed he was okay. It was pretty wild

Something like this happened in The League too; not the biting part but during sex and he was trying to incite symptoms because he said it was the best sex ever
