When’s the last time you been to Zachary baw? Whites are now the minority and the town is trending left. The final nail is being put in that town’s coffin.

I’ll try harder next time.

Zachary is just doing some lame crap. They want no part of Curtis this year.
J.T. even offered to bend and let their season ticket holders in for free and still pay them to get the game played, but Zachary changed their mind and that wasn't enough. Zachary administration should be ashamed and this only hurts the kids.

No miss communication at all. It was a Home and home but with the stipulation from Zachary that the return game had to be on Friday, coach Curtis understood and agreed to that. He doesn't like Thursday or Saturday games either.
That's why they went get the Shrine as a permanent home stadium. Who is Zachary to expect two home games from Curtis for nothing? Curtis doesn't need a game on the road like a mid major to get paid. In fact they offered Zachary a more money game. Like I said Curtis offered to let their fans in for free and still pay them.

20 years ago it was probably 40/60 in the other direction

You’ve obviously never been there. Everything is first class at that school. There are also not a lot of whites but the ones there take great price in the game day experience.

Latest update is that Zachary will play the game if Curtis agrees to allow Lindsey Scott Jr. to play for them.

Seriously, it couldn't look any worse for Zachary. Their excuse about 5 home games is crap because they have that already. All it took was a phone call if they were scared and Curtis could have scheduled another game. They wait until a week before the game to do this crap. Curtis even offered to send charter buses for them.
As a parent or student at Zachary, I would be mad at my administration for canceling. Every highschool expects 5 home and 5 away and that's what their schedule would reflect if they played in NO.

Signed contract or not the way it was negotiated and left in final form and the course of dealing since put this on JC. Sounds like the type of stuff JC has pulled since the 80s. F them

I want both schools to provide their copy of the contract…

Without an agreed-upon contract, the deal remained unsigned, and Curtis thought the schools had what equated to a handshake agreement for the two games.
“Our mistake was that we should have said (to) re-do the contract and send it back with the alternate dates,” J.T. Curtis said.

This whole thing is just another arrow into the inability of the governing association to manage the association. The fact that contracts aren’t required to be filed with the association is an embarrassing lack of control in dealing with non district matchups.. How are you supposed to mediate disputes with potential penalties and remedies when neither party is required to produce the agreement

That’s an anachronism from the days before the internet and fax machines, when nondistrict games didn’t count for anything period, when their results and playing or not playing didn’t affect any other team…
Now about 18 or so Louisiana teams that play either Curtis or Zachary are pissed that they lose a chance at one of them winning over this, which could have helped them get a top seed, a home game, or even just getting in the playoffs, something that could have been managed over Zoom and emailing and e-signing contracts

One thing I think about that I drill into my kid’s head is that you get, at most, approximately 40 regular season games (varsity) in your high school career and those are the only regular season games most kids will ever play. That’s probably only true for certain schools and certain kids. Most kids won’t sniff 40 regular season varsity games. Zachary is a place where most kids won’t dress varsity until they are a junior unless they are well above average.
Without getting into who is right or wrong or who should turn the other cheek I’ll say this — the real losers here are the kids on both teams that may not end up playing at all this week. They will lose one out of very few games in their high school career.
