Was known as Texas A&M Commerce but changed names like 2-3 years ago
Hasn't been D1 all that long either... only like 5-6 years since they moved up from D2

ETA can’t believe people are calling this a weak slate, maybe because yall are talking about the D2 football games. Why would anyone tune into any of those games other than friends or family?

For the real sickos like me, Gardner-Webb at Austin Peay Thursday night should be a pretty good game.

I’ll definitely watch the first game of the year or whatever is on when I’m near a tv. But none of those are scheduled viewing.

You may remember that they played last year in what was officially a non-conference game, scheduled as part of a 2-game non-conf home-and-home. UVA actually lost but it didn’t count in the conference standings and they finished 7-1 in the conference. Had it counted (and UVA didn’t play one of their other ACC games) there would’ve been a 6-way tie at the top at 6-2.
Was also supposed to apply this year, but because the ACC has now moved to a 9-game schedule, they shifted this year’s to be in-conference.
